Well just trundled into Game and purchased a copy!

Annoyingly my main rig is down atm, so going to have to install it on the laptop and hope it runs.

It's running on mediocre settings on my machine (<---) so I wouldn't hold your breath. I'd download the patch before you give it a go though, it alters your control over the visual settings.

Well just finished installing it ready for when I get home.

(Been fiddling with the network all day, so Ive had my laptop on my desk at work )

I'll grab the patch now, hopefully it will at least run.

As I say in the first part of the guide, there's tactical shooters and then there's ArmA. To be honest in vanilla form it's not too bad, but once ACE v2 is released it's a whole different kettle of fish. So long as you remember that your aim is to stay alive you'll enjoy it.

For those of you that have read it, have you ventured online yet? If so, what else would you want me to write about? Ballistics and the ArmA modelling? Vehicles?

Oh and another note:

.:iGi:. have opened up a public server for you all to enjoy. It's running a modified version of the Domination map series. You won't find that many of the clan on there for now (we're tending to play in private whilst we learn the game) but feel free to drop in. Be sure to give us a shout if you see any of us online.

You can find our servers by simply putting 'iGi' in the multiplayer server browser filter.
