Afraid I haven't had chance to fire up the game until tonight, and at the moment the patch seems to have been stuck at 3% for an eternity. Is it really that slow?
EDIT: Rebooted and killed Kaspersky, bit more sensible this time. Hopefully will be on soon.
For those struggling to find a copy of Mumble because Sourceforge is playing up, we've hosted it here for the short term:
http://majord.me.uk/downloads/Mumble-1.1.8.exe
OK - well quite a few of you are in Mumble, see the rest of you shortly!
Cant find the server in the game list?
coming soon. i hope lol
Wow, that was pretty different to any game I've played before!
Apologies to everyone for the dodgy names I ended up using courtesy of my documents no longer existing, to Calcutter for being so unbelievably clueless and requiring babysitting, and to whichever iGi member I mistook for the enemy and snipered in the face.
I have to admit, when we started I didn't think I'd see an enemy soldier the entire night but I have a suspicion I wound up shooting the odd one or two later on, and I guess improvement is all you can ask for. Cheers to everyone, particularly Lowe for sorting it all out and for trying to inject some vague semblance of organisation to our squad, I would've seriously struggled without your help.
Was a good laugh, so I'll definitely be back for more once I've completed the training and sussed it out a bit.
Cheers all was a grin, loved riding the mountain bike through an artillery barrage
Will be on the pub tomorrow at some point.
Thanks to the IGI peeps for letting us play, the advice, etc
All the best
joined later on but enjoyed the short spell we had. great team work and communication. top notch
Was pretty epic and by far the best game ive played on it yet. I could really do with a mic though, suggestions <£30 ?
Right, PC mics are pretty much of a muchness. Do you want something to work alongside a current pair of headphones or an all in one headset/headphone jobby? If you're going for an all in one jobby then yes - you're paying for the headphones rather than the mic so it's worth spending a little more.
However if it's just the mic that you need, then a basic tie clip mic will be more than sufficient. For example, my mic is actually my webcam! Its nowhere near my mouth, and sits on the desk next to my keyboard. Using PTT (Push to Talk) on Mumble means it's not constantly transmitting and it's sensitive enough to pick me up clearly.A quality mic isn't a huge issue with VOIP. Cheaper the better
As for the evening, glad you all enjoyed it. I know we had a few issues here and there with some peoples connections, and unfortunately the command VOIP on Mumble didn't quite work as expected. But - what an epic set of battles. There was excellent reports back from the squad leaders and other iGi lads, everyone from here did really well. You're all more than welcome on the servers and we're definitely going to be setting another one of these 'closed door' nights up again shortly so keep an eye out.

I need one which contains both headset/mic. I did plug my 360 controller in along with the wired headset and thought i could take that route - but to no avail![]()
Ive had Plantronics recommended to me but also the Creative fatality headset by a few of the WoW players at college
How often does your clan play together? i might be interested in joining you lot. do you have to be good at the game to join the clan?
i suck atm hehe. i got a mic but cant use it most times as it annoys my wife lol but im still happily enough to join in the voip server and listen to you lot and reply via text.
