That PvP mode/map seemed to be a lot easier than the "normal" one, certainly the respawning system was a lot better and the fighting was a fair bit more concentrated.

I'm sort of getting into ARMA, albeit slowly... it's got a lot in common with BF2, without all the unrealistic rubbish that used to be so irritating (namely running around with shotguns and leaping into the air every 5 seconds being a valid military tactic). Only problem is the learning curve is so steep, I still feel like I don't have the foggiest what's going on

Haha yeah that made me laugh, Mile5 had just run me over twice in the pickup, so I machine gunned the truck and he blew up, only for me to realise he was on our team, and then I found out courtesy of being run over twice I couldn't walk. Crawled for about 60 seconds or so to get into safety, then just when I think I've made it I get blasted in the head by you .

And yeah I think the first bit you were talking about was one point where I had my MG trained on their spawn point in the forest... loads of them kept appearing and then walking through my sights, me and Gruber were mowing them down

Sorry i didnt make it guys, apparently it was a good idea to startinstalling the RTM @ 7 o'clock :embarassed:
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I'd just like to thank everyone here and in iGi for helping me get in to the online side of this, so much better than the single player mode! I kind of reminds me of playing Planetside years ago, only with less stompy mechs and more death by snipers on hill 15.

grass is off from a distance regardless. i dont know why you play with grass on. its broken in this game and does work because of what i said and the fact that AI can see you through the grass too.

Aye, that was bloody harsh that was lol!

Biggest issue in that regard was spawning with 'black' vision and being unable to properly see anything for 30 seconds so we couldn't return fire. Shame we didn't know about the 2 cap zones as well, since that shot our chances from the outset. Still, it was a learning experience regardless and the next games we have in that mode will be a lot better

With regards to VOIP Josh, it's a time saver for me. I'm not going to sit here PMing people (who potentially won't show up) when all you need to do is hop on Mumble and ask lol! The other part I suppose is if you're not able to talk back to your squad then your effectiveness and team playing suffers. I'm sorry you didn't get to play, but by the time you were on we were already thick into the action and couldn't get back to you.

Grass and other detail levels need locking for serious PvP. It's a real pain in the posterior to be picked off by someone close that you can't see because they're not rendering grass. In the Devastation mission you find yourself shooting at people well within the 200m render range for grass and when lying down in cover to be picked off so obviously, it really highlights the issue.

Indeed but when someone is as lowe has already said in the 200 m which it does render for but has it off and you have it on then it does hinder you its one option I hope the lockdown in pvp so it cant be changed as obviously one with and one without who is gonna win?

Another reason for it being needed is even if you are outwitht he 200 m rang if you are prone in grass regardless of the grass not rendering after 200m you find it hard to see again if its off you are not hindered.

Still its a beta so hopefully it will be addressed or there will be a way that the server can lock it.

In the Devastation mission you find yourself shooting at people well within the 200m render range for grass and when lying down in cover to be picked off so obviously, it really highlights the issue.
yea i couldnt ask as i couldnt use my mic. i will try and come on next event. in regards about the grass, what about if your hiding away in the grass and someone over 200m spots you? its still and advantage over that person and i honestly dont see the point in having it on when it just gives you a major disadvantage in various different scenario's

Was the grass like this on Arma 1? i would love to play with grass but not if people can spot me over 200m!!
