    Something for IL-2 addicts

Dunno how many still play IL-2 but there's an interesting article here.
Looks like IL-2 still has some life left in it.

Might need a re-install when this comes out, but if they don't get their finger out they'll have released the new game and we'll all be playing that on our PC before the update for il2.

i shall make a guess and say that the original IL-2/ Forgotten Battles/ Pacific Fighters/ PE2/ 1946 and this addition will STILL be more played and better than the "new version" if and when it arrives.

I still play once per month, to keep my eye in and it is STILL the best

    thanks for the link

    Why would you think that?

The amount of time they've been working on Storm of War is beyond ridiculous. Can't imagine it would be anything other than epic.
Battle of Britain setting should make it all the more popular in the UK too........or am i missing something?

I would imagine that BOB will be restricted to a pretty small planeset to start with, which is not so appealing to many players.
The Mods from AAA bring a fresh look to the game and the ability to fly the UI planes from cockpit is a real plus.

It's very unlikely that the only theme will be the main BoB theme, there's bound to be more than just that.

of course IL2 is soon to launch on the xbox 360 and ps3, but a nice shiny updated version with decent graphics.

I only wish it was coming out on the PC.

The xbox version isn't as good as the old pc version, and they are releasing a new PC game in the autumn. Something to look foward to if you want your next decent flight sim hit.
