ARMA2 vs CoD4: I'm too old for that change

I spent the best part of a year getting my CoD4 reflexes up as high as a doddery old nearly 40 bloke can get them..... and I was then consistently top half and occasionally top 3 in most servers.

Arma 2 come out.. I spent 3 weeks playing it...

tried CoD4 and got wasted.. totaly wiped out.Needed 3 cups of black columbian marching liquor to get my speed up to cose to whats needed.

Too old... old and slow... old and slow...

    Why you young whippersnapper ! (I'm 45)
The important thing is to remember that old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill.
    Shoot them in the back.

Personally I have really enjoyed team games. Like Singh400 I've played a lot of ETQW, and L4D. Sometimes, a cool head can be a huge asset to a team when the bunny-hopping and cricle stafing deathmatch fever takes hold.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

It doesn't take long to hone your skills again for CoD. I picked up W@W recently having not played CoD4 for over a year and found I was getting my arse handed to me. After a couple of hours I was getting more kills than deaths and after about 10 hours I was getting the odd MVP.

ah.. CoDW@W is slower (and better for it...)

but CoD4 is soooo fast. Not quite Quake 3 but damn close.

Re: ARMA2 vs CoD4: I'm too old for that change

CoD WaW too slow for my liking.
Played the mp demo that was out, enjoyed it for a bit, but havent bothered wasting my momey on it.
CoD4 I still love, I play with a pretty decent bunch of lads, some of which are attending this year's i-series, were not expecting much, its more for the fun.

@Zak, if you bog standard CoD4 is too fast, try pro mod mate, so much quicker, everyone is locked to the same perks, snipers and generally limited to 1, two smg's, as many Ak's as you want and a shotgun, all players generally have desert eagles. This makes the game very very quick indeed, add to that the run glitch (If there is a flat wall, or even a the metal shingle type fencing, and you lean into it and run, you tend to run quicker). Bunny hopping is all over Pro mod, I dont like it, but have had to adapt to it and use it to play well and be a semi decent to decent player depending on my nite.

If you want to test pro mod, let me know and I will give you the IP and pass to one of your match server's and you can pop on.

Re: ARMA2 vs CoD4: I'm too old for that change

    It IS faster.

But trust me, play some pro mod for a while, get your head into a little, get used to it, then go back to whatever you play and you will play so much better. it also cleans up the game a bit which helps.

Trust me, im not a doctor or a banker!
