Grrr. ARMA2 is working again but two hours too late, next time hopefully.
Thanks for the games. Loads of fun, loving the PVP, have to do it again sometime.
As for other level ideas. Think a similar setup, with the roles reversed might be a good laugh and a bit more balanced too, feels slightly favoured toward the defender at the mo. If the yanks are attacking they can use their better weapons and choopers(UH-1/MH60) with miniguns etc to overcome the natural defensive advantage of the island, rather than the defnders having the good guns and the good position. You'd need to empty out the rockets on the UH for the sake of fairness, be to easy to kill the base otherwise(pretty sure you can do it in the scripts wouldn't know how though).

Tbh it worked really well...
(I just wish this game didn't cause so many people grief, with Crashes to Desktop, Yamangman not being able to koin any servers, and frequet timeouts.... )
The stop watches going off was a master stroke... as was the perimeter alarm. I think for next time to speed things up, we all get the same weapon loadout. Everyone gets M4's, and one each Stachel, and a couple of grenades, plus a pistol.
Then there's no more loadout delays and we get straight in on the action and sniping becomes a tad less frequent.

Fixed loadouts are certainly possible but it's a 50/50 split one that because lots of people like to play in different ways. I do definitely need to add more satchels though and tweak the basic load out so that you're equipped in a more useful fashion. The other alternative is to try and get the basic load out to be the same after you die, a bit like Domination etc.
As for the general ArmA issues - well yeah, that's just ArmA for you. When it works it's amazing, when it doesn't.. well, tough lol! It'll get better, it's still early days for ArmA 2.
Right then, v0.3 is done and uploaded, should you find yourself oven on our PvP server.
Changes include:
* Reworked US base. Slightly bigger, H pads, fixed machine gun emplacements and searchlights.
* Decreased detection/trigger zone.
* Fixed loadouts (specific classes have different weaponry, but in the main pretty much the same)
* Russians are now all Spetnatz except 1x Medic with silenced weaponary.
* Spetnaz Operators spawn with 2x satchels by default, more are available.
* On mission start up, time and weather conditions are selectable.
* Natives are mobile and aggressive!
Sounds fun :D

It's hit and miss really, it's best to just hop on and see who's playing. The organised events are once a fortnight, so this week will be the 'off' week.
