Briefing:
Background info: US and Russian forces are at loggerheads after political tensions reach boiling point in Chenarus, an independent country which has been occupied by Russian forces. The US government has sent in a rapid response group of Marines to ensure proper treatment of the Chenarussians by the Russian forces.
The US forces have located an Harrier AV8B Forward Operating Base (FOB) on an independent island just off the South coast. Whilst no actual hostile sorties have yet been flown, the Harrier's posturing has angered the Russian government who are now willing to give the US forces a taste of their own medicine and send a clear message.
Independent guerrilla/militia forces are thought to be present in the area. They seek to end any diplomatic relationships with the Russians and fight off the occupation, however they do not want any involvement from the US who they see as being worse than the Russians! Any contact with these factions must be considered hostile since they will shoot on sight!
The Mission: A squad of Russian infantry has driven into South Chenarus. Their mission is to infiltrate the island and completely destroy the US FOB by any means possible. If this happens the Russians win, and the mission stops. They have been provided with limited supplies to help with them accomplish this task. These supplies do not respawn and so management of these resources is absolutely critical.
US forces have a similar sized squad tasked with protecting their base at all costs. Since such an attack is expected, the island has been rigged with motion detection sensors. These sensors will alert both the squad and also the Marine HQ aircraft carrier. Once triggered the Marine HQ will send in reinforcements, but it will take 30 minutes to arrive. Russian intelligence knows about these motion sensors and as a reminder for the Russians a wrist watch alarm will go off 10 minutes before reinforcements arrive. If the US FOB is still standing after 30 minutes, then the US side wins and the mission stops.
