I set mine to 450 in the spit and p39/38, i still like to try and get up close before i blow my load

Blimey lads thats not close!!!!!!!!! Mine are between 100m and MAX 280 depending on what I flying and what the target is, DF servers its down to 120 to 150 and in VEF its higher as DFs tend to be less protracted and you often dont have chance to close in nice and tight.

Yes its a disadvantage for those long range shots but tbh I rarely if ever bother now adays, but where it scores well are those crossing shots when following a scissoring plane or attacking head to head

Did you know the AI are programmed to do evasive manouvers based on your convergance range ?

Seriously its true.

Set your convergance to 50m and then try sneaking up on an AI plane, you'll get much closer

it depends on your style of fighting, zoom and boom guys I'm saying would go for a longer convergance....
