Re: D&D Online (Unlimited) Now Free

There used to be 4 European servers, but they merged them down to 2 now (sign of how the subscriptions have fallen I guess) called Keeper and Devourer; they are different to the 6 American ones.

I'm not sure I get the whole VIP status thing. If you subscribe for only 1 month, do you get to keep the benefits, or are you bumped back down to Premium status? In which case, would you lose some access to classes (eg Monk) and adventure packs? Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere.

I have a choice of 6 servers (well i did last night)..chose Cannith i think it's called. Gonna have another bash later.
Oh, if anyone's wondering how to reach above level 4 make sure you choose a Sigil levelling stone as a reward for a quest. (they're random drop it seems).

As a fighter you will find the starter quests very easy, especially on "solo" difficulty. I've managed to just get to lvl 2 with a rogue without too much problem. However, it will soon become apparent that you'll need a party for some of the longer quests I reckon. Certainly once you've left the island.

Re: D&D Online (Unlimited) Now Free

oh come on... it's a hoot

Sair33, saofg and I have all started tonight and it was funny as hell.

We started a skype conferance call, with a room mic here and saofg on his at his home, and we took over 90 minutes to create characters and names which was a good crack initself.

Then we all did the training simultaneously, and all got confused as hell while shouting at each other.

Then we partied up (once they realised I was a halfling with scarlet red hair ) and we went on the first challenge into the graveyard.. was proper good fun.

No one died, no one explained anything to us and we were baffled as hell, but it was excellent value...it was free

    So

Zak33 = Stardock. stumpy halfling mage with horrible hair and no idea
Sair33= Tsairani, human cleric with no idea but 'arder than Stardock
saofg (bishops finger to Eve players) = Crydee Human Rogue, no hair, and always wandering off

We struggled with targetting enemy's cos it seems we need to be facing them to hit them, and can't double click them to target at all... do we need to right click?

We also struggled with movement, being 3 devoted Lineage2 players, where we clicked the ground to move before.

    But it was a HOOT

Are you on the Cannith server Zak? If so, are free players allowed to set up a guild? Might be worth doing to keep a track of everyone easily.

Yeah, it looks like you have to buy something off the store to create a guild. I suppose we can just use a Vent server between ourselves. Which brings me onto: -

I know! I was trying to get Kent (it's actually part of where my username comes from- the NWN random name generator once came up with Kent Menthel for a human ranger) and tried a few different ways and had no joy, so it ended up getting a little bit silly!

Right, so I'm on Cannith. I guess I'm in the right place and have the right version of the game. When I load up it has the D&D logo with unlimited under it, also only have 2 character slots and it says free play underneath.

I havn't received any friend requests looking under the friend tab hence why I'm wondering if I have the right version of the game, also the fact that I got my confirmation email for registration and its says 2 week trial on it!

You're on the right server, as I've just added you as a friend (along with everyone else listed in this thread). Not sure whether you get a request or anything. You probably get no indication what-so-ever that you've been added onto people's lists.
Here's my "FriendsList.ini" file. I think if you make the file and place it in your main directory, you can just import the list.
