Well, you could find out those answers with a little bit of research.

Location: Benson (nothing to do with beds)
    (From my Profile)
    Occupation: Aircraft Mechanic (Fairy)
And the helicopter in the background is a Puma.

God knows. Probably training; especially after the slating they're getting from the inquest in the last couple of weeks.

We have a spitfire + Hurricane museum down the road from us (Manston), my company actually part own it.
To think, out of about 22,000 spitfire's only 170 odd remain and most of those are wrecks.

Fairy is the nickname given to Avionic techies, due to working with pretty lights! Also called "Leckies" (electrical) and "Lights" after the combination of the avionic and elctrical trade (engine and airframe mechanics are referred to as "Heavies"). There is also an unfortunately nickname of Dog ers, after apparently someone, somewhere may have caught a leckie with a dog years ago.

I was going to be an armourer, but I filled my name in correctly on the application form! (Armourers have a reputation for being dumb on account of wanting to work with explosives. Them and people who jump out of perfectly servicable aircraft!))

    Re: Visitor in our Hangar

    Heh,
I see spits & stuff flying around all of the time in summer, especially at weekends.
Never a quiet, sunny sunday morning around here!

But then, I do live near Duxford, and they use the village as a marker.
