Am tempted to try this
I'm guessing that it's earlier than you are thinking of then Zak33 (though I couldn't remember what type of place it was until I tried playing again), as I mean the very first mission, the cave where you first meet Cellimas after being told to go there by Jeets. I know the tip says to use the looking glass icon, but as I said in my earlier post I used them all up in the wrong place it seems.
There are a couple of arrows, one that seems to point at the wall, but still nowhere to click to get out it seems.
The search skill can be used as many times as you like. It's simply a "mode" that lasts a few seconds, unlike in NWN, where you can "stay" in it. I can't remember the tutorial, but you should get a little icon in the top right corner (like a door and an exclamation mark) when you detect there's a hidden/secert door nearby (this is based on your "Spot" skill). You can then use the "search" mode (get the little progress bar, lasts about 6 seconds; this based on the "Search" skill.). The door should then "glow". I would guess the skills required on the tutorial will be negative, to allow any charcter to find it. In normal missions, secret doors are optional, not a necessity to complete a quest.
we've sorted out Mattitude now.... he had accidentally clicked the icon while moving his mouse and dragged it off his task bar.
I've done that a million times in Lineage.

Dunno what to expect from here on in tbh

I've read on the forums you can reach lvl12 before running out of content, but that includes a lot of grinding. However, for around the price of a full game, you can get quite a few adventure packs that will get you all the way upto lvl20, espeically if you get them at the weekend when they're usually 25% off. It's a one-off payment as well and you'll be able to use the packs on any (American) server and with any char. Even if you played for just 2 months, you'd still be breaking even.
If you really wanted to play for free, then it is possible to grind like hell and convert favour into Turbine Points (the currency used to buy stuff). This method requires playing on all 6 servers for the bonus.
