COD Modern Warfare 2 on PC is awesome **warning, spoilers within

The most anticipated game of 2009 has arrived but what is all the fuss about, what makes COD Modern Day Warfare 2 so good and why has it sold so many copies around the globe breaking world records in sales and distribution.

First of all Infinity Ward are great when it comes to developing games, although they do have their faults with bindings but any gamer who knows the locations of .cfg files can bind their own keys like myself. For the first time last night I actually had a little go, well I say a little go...? The next thing it's 01:20 in the morning my back is aching my wrist are red and my hands are stiff in the position of keyboard and mouse.

Thankfully I have a 5870 which rocks on CODMDW#2 there is even muzzle heat from the rifle which I don't think I have ever seen in a game before, the first Recon level is awesome, although the second level where you are in the blizzard of snow is hard, because you have to tap left and right on the mouse to drive the pick into the ice on the side of the mountain and you do eventually fall but was hauled back up to safety . I think that was the most intensifying part of the game for me, my heart was in my mouth, and my mouth was dry as the Sahara.

Well I have only gone through Recon at the moment, I have not gone through the rest of the consignments yet but I do believe they are as impressive as recon.

There is no hesitation in my mind to give this a well deserved 100% 10/10 Although, CODMDW#2 is not to everybody's taste and some people will probably install it and play it once and then complain it is too hard for them to play.. Well my advice to anybody who is thinking this game is a walk in the park it's not. It needs skill and precision and thankfully I have good perception and skill, which makes it very helpful... AI is very realistic and just out of this world. Oh and for those who cannot play a game without cheating don't bother buying the game because it takes the fun out of the game.

Um, it's Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) - no "day" in sight

Watched some PC gameplay footage on GiantBomb, does look very nice. Not too shabby on my 360 either.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

    Hi Jonessie,

Thank you for the review - clearly a game you enjoyed! I'm sorry that some of those that disagreed with you were rather charmless about it!

"Bollocks" - well, nothing like a bit of well thought out and constructive criticism - and that was nothing like well thought out and constructive criticism!

Re: COD Modern Day Warfare 2 on PC is awesome

We all know about the PC versions shortcomings guys and we all have our own opinions of it, if Jonessie is enjoying MW:2 on PC there's no reason to belittle him for it just because it doesn't measure up to your yardstick, it's not beyond comprehension that someones opinion, somewhere, hasn't swung to the negative just because of the lack of dedicated server support.

Sarcasm, clever, but unnecesary. You're entitled to your opinion and you've voiced it many times in threads elsewhere, the phrase "if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" springs immediately to mind.

I don't get that argument at all, your saying that the PC version is hit hard buy that? but there are no mods for other versions, and 9v9 is certainly the same as the 360. And p2p online matches still work aswell as Xbox live unless Xbox live has been transformed dramatically in the last few months.

Pc Version seems a very solid game to me. Only annying thing for me is the length of the SP campain which seems to get shorter and shorter for the CoD games. But that's not limited to the PC version.

That's my main gripe with the game tbh. Otherwise it's formulaic CoD fayre which I quite enjoy.

    It's a no brainer shoot-em-up, end of.

i actually enjoyed Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising more & that's only because it resembled the awesomeness of GRAW2.

Theirs a reason why me and others diddnt buy the console version of cod4. There is also reasons why people prefer to game on the pc rather then a console.

Now the latter i just mentioned is becoming thinner and thinner with each console port.

I'm sorry but the OP reads like a "What I did during my summer holidays" school report, I'd give it a V.Good and a smiley face if I was a P6 teacher.
"The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being." Karl Marx

PC games have to be judged against other PC games, there are different standards. On the PC no dedicatedservers, waiting around in matchmaking lobbys and small 9v9 max player counts are a step back compared to the rest of the competition and it's own predecessor.

Having played the ps3 version online for the guts of six hours I have to say the online expereince is just awful, never get over 3 bars (mostly 2) and most games end up being 5v4, often ending up 2v2 by the end of the round.

A dedicated server support patch and this goes back to the top of my to buy list.
