IL-2 1946 is still alive and kicking like a good 'un

    Lo pilots

Just so you all know, 4.09m (not the beta.. the proper version) is rock solid, and the online community is still very strong.

Tumble, Trig and I played last night and it was pretty busy on most good servers.

Some very good pilots, and we had our asses handed to our un-practiced-selves on platter's of silver.

So... don't delay.. go fly/die today

I've just been up again, P63 and FW190D, ran out of fuel in the 63 and crashed the 190 into a tree doing some low level strafing, dont think it helped I got flakked...
I have more fun with my Cyborg than the X45, no faffing with button configs, just fly...

I got my arse handed to me on a silver platter for the first few hours as well to be honest, haven't been back up since, I eventually managed to bag two 109's and get my arse back on a runway and decided to quit while I was ahead

Just dloading 4.09, I am running the steam dlaod version so looks like a bit of fiddling to get it working.

As to joysticks, havent the rokm to have stick and keyboard on the desk so have to map most keys to the stick.

People aiming to get up tonight then?
Might be worth setting up a small private server for us to mess about on?
I should be online around 9pm..

Re: IL-2 1946 is still alive and kicking like a good 'un

First time I went up in about 2 months, over the target in an IL2 3M, got a 20mm flak shell up me jacksie, took the rear gunner out and sliced my rudder and elevator controls... made it 50 odd km back to base and executed a perfick 3 point landing (without a "Marlin Hop") on nowt but aileron and throttle. Then died many, many times trying to even find the target again

I have said this for about....ohh... 7 years now... DONT use massive complicated sticks... use normal ones with good hatswitchs, and just fly

Tumble's got Track Ir and I have a feeling it's good... lots of people have used it for many years now, and he loves it...

but it's very rare I lose sight of someone cos of hatswitch limitations.. it's more MY limitations tbh

Trig.. I'm really glad you've re found the love... cos the game has missed you to be honest...nearly as much as you missed the targets

Very tempted. Haven't played a flight sim in quite some time... though I'm a jet jockey at heart.

I ended up getting Il2 on steam
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/15320/

£9.99 for 1946, but think I picked it up on an offer a while ago
