I so want to play D&D but I've failed to persuade my friends to sign up.
Oooh, free to play D&D MMO? So who here still plays it, and is it worth me pulling down and giving it a go?
I just noticed something using my upload the other night and tracked it down to Pando Media Booster from the DDO updater, don't know if it's something they've added recently or I just wasn't paying attention before, but I think I would've spotted it. Quick uninstall sorted it out, bit cheeky, but for a free download I s'pose you can't begrudge them trying to offset their bandwidth.
D&D Online is definitely worth a go, great game and going free-to-play has given it a new lease of life.
I posted a bit about this the other week. Dead easy to remove from the control panel but it caused my connection to keep resetting as it kept open too many TCP/IP connections.
As for the D&D game. I've played it for roughly 6 hours and so far it appears to be an okay game and if it gives me something to play for free to replace WoW then I'm not complaining.
Another one I would look at is 9dragons, martial arts based rather than you normal fantasy setting.
The graphics are very good, the martial arts animations are really well done.
The down side, it's a skill usage xp/level system, ie you have a main level and all your skills has separate levels as well, to gain skill xp, you have to use the skill, a lot, so you can often find someone just standing in a safe area using the same buff constantly. (you often get less than 1% skill xp per use)
This game is very grindy, but it's free, quite fun to play, the lower levels are well paced.
