how does it work? How do you get your ships etc? In the event you lose your ship what happens then?

Its not EVE, Jay. I haven't died yet but you just respawn I think. Its much more friendly to people such as myself without the time to invest!

Yes, Jay, its not EVE. There is no consequence to dying.

Jay, I don't know if there is any debuff as per WoW as I have not died yet, but even the one in WoW does no major harm. I think you may have just come in here to blow your EVE trumpet...

And anyway you can't just blow an EVE Trumpet, first you must train Trumpet to V and calculate the pressure to tone numbers

also, is it possible to bored other ships or is it just destroy > salvage?

edit: just got a text from my friend who went home at dinner to start patching and apparently the Devs are going to hold a huge event shortly after release (which they plan to hold different ones bi-monthly) with a Borg cube entering the alpha quadrant and all online captains receive a distress signal from all allied races to come and help. i like the idea of that!

You can't capture other ships. I guess because you are in starfleet and have a ship to look after. However you do sometimes 'salvage' weapons etc after you have destroyed another ship.

i saw a video on my dinner on ship combat and it looks quite 'busy' but in a good way - instead of just waiting on cooldowns it keeps you on your toes - assigning crew tasks (i think was the central bottom bar) distribution of shields ect - im quite exited now!

Ship combat is good fun and very engaging. Ground combat is not.

I feel intrigued to try this again tonight. I just don't know if I can get along with it. Guess I will try as much as I can during open beta, then see what I think when it's released...
