Pretty much the same game modes, IDENTICAL control setup... just seems to be easier to play. I'm still not very good at all, mind, but I'm loving it (I know it's been out for more than a year, but I only just got it).

You really don't like Nazis ?
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
all the good people are playing cod4

CoDW@W is, in my opinion, WAY SMOOTHER graphically than CoD4.
I still play CoD4 online, and irrelevant of the speed of game play... it still stutters on me sometimes, and a quick 180 when I hear footsteps behind me is no where near as smooth.
However..., CoD4 sound is better..the 3d imaging in CoD4 is much better on a quiet server. W@W doesn't do it so well at all.
W@W for the win though.. better balanced game, less noobs too. Way less little kids voting to swap maps every 4 minutes.

may I suggest finding the 10th Tac server, which is a "Crouch only" server. No walking unless with main gun raised (not pistol) and NO RUNNING unless under direct fire, and then only to cover.
There are no Dogs, not Arty and NO CAMPING. 120 seconds or 3-4 kills and then move on.
No blind fire, so no shooting through smoke, no blind nades, no wall spamming unless tracking an already confirmed target through an arc of fire.
It makes a silent, none-bunny hopping game. Good scores are 30 to 35 kills.
All weapons are allowed, but NO MARTY and NO LAST STAND
Well worth finding. The 10th are proper nice chaps.

I always avoid servers like this, not because i do all those things but because i find it really annoying having rules preached to me and get threatened whenever you try and actually enjoy yourself.
Remember that servers are opt-in - and there are always plenty of other ones to play on. I think it's perfectly fine for a bunch of friends to sit down and agree some rules that they find more fun - I used to do it all the time at LANs and www servers are just an extension of the same, but open to other people who *want* to play with voluntary rules in place. There no need to threaten or police anything, because if you don't want to play with those rules then you wouldn't be on the server.
You say that but stupid people still go on servers like that and take no notice of the rules until they get kicked and then complain about it.
I hated WAW and much prefered cod4 except for damn marty and the insane bullet penetration took some of the skill out of the game.
I will check the server out Zak. Might put a few hours into it tomorrow evening. I assume people won't mess about with the fact I am rank 1 as I never played the multi on W@W, was doing CoD4 and then MW2 and BC2 over the years.

It's a really fun server - don't matter if your level 65 on 3rd prestige or a rank newcomer..... everyone shoots you the same

Sometimes tricky to get in tho.
Mr Tumble and LemmingA are your friends, though I (Lemming) struggle to play often at the mo.
