    Ports?

Help me sort out my router here.

I know I need ports 21000 and 21010 open, but are they TCP or UDP?

And is there a risk of just leaving em open all the time?

You just need port 21000 open.. not the other.... and you only need that open when you are HOSTING a game.

after a lot more searching than i should really have needed to do (not a single mention of ports in the manual!) 21000 is udp dont know about the other

why not just open them for both tcp and udp tho to be sure?

soon as I've figured HOW to open a port....

    its called Port Forwarding.....

but be warned.......and I mean it seriously.....

A: it normally takes 30 seconds to change over....
B: I can HOST with it on but CANT JOIN a game when its on....so if you drop outta your own server to join someone esles VEF....you're in for a shock after waiting hours to join.
C: you will PROB have to restart Hyper lobby...after you've swapped Port Forwarding from one to another....so you gotta REMEMBER it....or you'll not get Hyper Loby to work properly...and then loose out of joining a VEF.

If you HAVENT got port forwarding on....you're little server will be flying, you'll be bombing around....and feel all alone cos no one will be able to join you....and you'll never know
