We have accounted for 16 human oppositions
We have accounted for 4 AI fighter bots

to ME this means we're doing the TASKS assigned and finding the bad guys hounding us....and I can back that up, BECAUSE 12 AI bombers have fallen to us and 4 AI bombers too.

So we're doing what we're supposed too....

And yet we seem to be losing more missions than we win

I guess we've got to kill even more the buggers And then try not to get shot down ourselves. It's the old rule that a kill isn't really worth much unless you come back alive!

Heh well thats exactly what its taken me 30+ missions to learn. I get in, kill as much as i can in as few runs past target as possible and get home. I'm sure thats pretty much what WWII bomber pilots did, get in, kill as quick as possible and get home.

It accounts for my last 4 missions me getting home and landing in all of them, i may not get hundreds of points but i've been on more Red winning missions in the last few than the entire rest of the games i've played.

Yep, better to get home having sprayed a few shots around the sky than go in, blow away two guys and get totalled by their wingmen... learnt that one... hence my now NOT negative score...

Remember, a few hits may be enough for him to stuff it on landing, giving you the kill.

its getting the TEAM WIN that does the points so much good tho

On my recent outing I beat hell outta 3 tanks THEN pounded a 109....but we didnt win the game

I landed safely....got 55 points

now if WE'D all got home I could have forsaken any 2 of the tanks and even the 190 and got more points !

This is my major beef with vef atm, we take on the tasks assigned to us be it ground attack patrol or escort we do it, the majority of okl squads don't, they ignore they're objectives and use the 110's as fighters because the 109's can't seem to get the hang of taking down il2's with the 20mm guns since they were downgraded which is complete crap as I took one up in single player and downed 2 with no problem.

Its p*ssing me off in a big way because 110's in every game i've been in recently leave the objective and go il2 hunting because with those huge nose cannons they can take em to pieces

We can try and complete our mission every time and these frag hunters come in and turn it into one huge df and then win the mission without completing the objective

maybe we need a change of strategy....but its hard wityh Yak1's and I-16's

Guys what you don't seem to appreciate is that in war, people don't play by the rules what you have to do is change your tactics to win. I have no problem with BF110C's coming after my IL2 because quite frankly i'd much rather have a dogfight with a BF110C than a 109, i've got much more chance to get on the back of them.

But if 110's are coming after the IL2's then there is all the chance in the world for the IL2 escort to blow them out of the sky, do that and get the IL2's home intact and guarenteed red victory.
