well.....so long as the vid card DRIVERS are clever enough....not like recent ATI ones...it might just be feasable...on an X800 XT

That Bow Wave......I had one of those on my Lagg 3 last night when I went swimmin

The planned "totally perfect" water model for Pacific Fighters will not run well on any machine currently. They showed it at E3 running on AMD 64 and a Geforce 6 and it was pushing that system. They are going to implement a number of detail settings so it can be tuned to what hardware you have.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that they've gone nuts to try and make the water as real as possible, but yet half the objects still look a bit pants?

Well yes and no :-) This is "Pacific Fighters" so its a good chance that a fair amount of combat/flight will take place over water so it makes sense for some work to be done on it

Funny, I thought it was an air-combat game, not water quality monthly..

Seriously, sure it looks nice, but the current full water is more than enough eye-candy and enough of a performance hit already, you're not going to be flying around looking at the pretty water, you're going to be ignoring what the water looks like and looking all over the show for targets and enemy fighters instead.

So as I said, nice, but ultimately pointless and is more of a bragging point for Oleg more than anything else.

IMHO they've have been better off spending the time improving things like draw distances and fixing the miriad of game engine bugs than a pretty, but fairly throw-away feature.

heh - i hope they don't make the water so realistic that i can't tell which is up and which is down, i mean at least with FB you've got green underneath you when you are the right way up hehe....
