2 Tracks, 1 Dogfight, Lots of things to be learned...

Posted this here to give some of the non-MA pilots a chance to see what we fly like

Joined a 1v1 with a nice guy, VO101_Mahgar - 3500hours of FB, flying since Aug 01, thought it would be a nice challenge.

Challenge was the right word alright

First one is from his view - note, he only starts recording halfway through the session.

Second is from my view, runs from start to finish.

It really is best if you view these tracks without manual view, so you will see exactly where he looked and exactly where I looked.

From my view it felt as though he was in control all the way through - but from his it shows that he was doing a hell of a lot to keep up with me, note the prop pitch fine tuning, and the constant changing of flaps. His accuracy aint the greatest, a lot of it is spraying around, but when it hit it sure did hurt a lot

Not once did I hit him - not ONCE, even with FOV 45 See Zak- I didn't get all over his arse, didn't get a kill, you see...

It just goes to show that the 109 CAN be used to turnfight very effectively, and it CAN be used to B'n'Z just as effectively - all hell's going to break loose when they get their G6's in VEF, Mk108 gunpods

a lot of flappery and propery as said but he was always on ur tail and always had u in his view ,kind of a 1 way battle there and it wasnt going ur way thats for sure

Luke, thanks a million for sharing those with us, really has highlighted a LOT from watching them. Blooming impressive to watch.

The real thing that highlights this to me how well he was flying was how quickly he could get onto your six on the 2nd run onwards. Felt that the first run you gave him an incite into how you flew and after that you may have been predictable?.

Not saying i could do any better at all but omg how well can he make that thing turn after coming under you, over the top then instantly round and onto your six !

very nice, but I really can't be bothered to put in all that time to be that good, it's only a game at the end of the day, but to most of the top pilots it's most of their lives..

I try my best...and I will continue to try to improve....

he has the speed advantage from the off and simply holds it..

simply...my arse...its not simple....but thats it...in one...

tell you what tho Luke....you dont half hold a SPit upside down well.....one of those hangs was at 40 kph....good balance mate....very good indeed

I think my joystick might be a bit dicky, now and again I get a massive left roll for no reason at all, only countering repeatedly with opposite roll fixes it.. unless it's an IL2 bug?

Cyborg 3D Plat by any chance??

I fix it by hitting Shift+<- (Feeble attempt at left arrow ) a couple of times (Shift + <- = Reset Airelon trim)

I seem to only get it with certain aircraft - P38, BF110, Glad, P39.
I'm guessing its something to do with AEP getting messed up with the drivers at the point of spawning - summat like that anyway

Just had a look at the guy's stats: -

Statistics:
Air kills/(Death+1): 13
Ground kills/(Death+1): 3.38
Sorties/(Death+1): 22.13
Air kills /Sorties: 0.59
Ground kills /Sorties: 0.15

Akills/Death+1 = HOW MUCH

No wonder I got battered.....
