    Duxford.... arrangements...

Hmm... been thinking. We need to get there earlier than we did last year, purely to bag a decent spot ot drool over the planes from.

Where we were last year was pretty cool as the majoirty of planes taxied back past us, only about 20 feet away. Thing is, we had to squeeze ourselves inbetween some people, so I reckon and early turn up and get the towels out, Gemanic stylee.

There's still loads to see and do there, so even if we get there way before the show kicks off, we'll have perlenty to keep us occupied.

The gates open at 8am on Sunday 6th, flying starts at 2pm... soooo. a 10am start?

I mean 10 am at Duxford... not 10am set off for Duxford...

And while I'm banging on about the place...

Autumn Air Show - Sunday 10 October

This show will focus on two popular aircraft classics - the Hurricane and the Spitfire. Examples of these magnificent aircraft will take to the air and there will be the chance to meet some of the veterans who flew them. The last major UK air show of the year offers one last opportunity to see air show favourites before the winter.

You have to be carefull getting there to late in the day. Firstly you can end up parking miles away and secondly I have witnessed 2 hour plus queues to get in. You have been warned :-)

Which was the reasoning behind my cunning plan...

Cos of all the hoo-haa on TV over the 60th anniversary of D-Day, I think theres a pretty good chance that Duxford will be packed out... espesh if there's fair weather forecast..

I reckon Hat has the plan trimmed up a bit.... the pub part sounds particularly attractive... while the traffic 'thins' obviously...

I'll be getting the snaggers, pig slices and eggs all warmed up if anyone wants to stop off at mine first. PM me or whatever, I'll send you my address.

My suggestion would be on the hour outside the USAAF museum starting about 10am then another check at 11 and another at 12. :-) With any luck if I can get Hat up earlier enough we will be parked in the disabled bit near the USAAF museum. Last couple of times I have been I have had the car in the first two ranks there without much in the way of a crowd. Spent most of the show there as its near the taxiway and can dive for cover when the rain comes
