I hope not ive just spent £800 on new parts lol
PC gaming will never be dead. Otherwise all the hardware devs and manufacturers would go out of business not making high-end components.
pc gaming is going backwards. too many console ports and game breaking bugs. RAGE is a joke

And Dead Island, and even Red Orchestra 2 is an unoptimized turd quite frankly. PC gaming is the exact opposite of dead - I think it's being revived due to the fact that consoles are so outdated now and developers are pushing the limits. With the release of BF3 the gap in technology is shockingly clear. We just need the devs on board to make decent games, not half-arsed ports....
I agree, the problem is - it ain't going to happen.
There is a new generation that is fuelling the industry and unfortunately, they grew up on consoles and don't understand or just do not want to buy PCs....I guess ignorance really is bliss.
Add in the rise of the smartphone and tablet and there are even less reasons for someone to have a PC now....I really see it as a declining market....and one we are going to see supported less and less.
Just look at releases over the last year or so. The vast majority are all console ports. The PS3 and XBox versions get exclusive DLC, they get patched first, they normally work on day 1.....hell, when Black Ops released last year (a FPS game with it's roots firmly on PC) it was complete broken. PS3 and XBox versions were getting patches to fix small graphical glitches and gameplay bugs, all while the vast majority of PC gamers were left with a virtually unplayable product.
As long as they keep seeing 10x the profit on consoles, we will always be an after-thought.

I agree, the devs pander to the lowest common denominator and the consoles are that denominator.
Well MMO's are the current life blood of pc gaming, it's one area where consoles haven't proved that popular.

Not really, or all games would just be 2d flash browser based - there are far far more people playing games of some sort on PCs than any other system. But in terms of how much people spend on games consoles are by far the highest - PC gamers don't like paying for games, hence the rise in free to play stuff, given they will pirate the games anyway you might as well take advantage of it.
But with a pirated copy u cant play online in most cases without fiddling with a lot of crap and just playing on hacked pirated servers which are more or less full of cheats!
Good lukc playing ranked or unranked legit BF3 servers on a pirated copy

The portion of Xboxs able to play pirated material is far lower than the portion of PCs able to play pirated material for starters, but there are probably other considerations as well. At the end of the day, for whatever reason, console players buy (many) more games than PC players, despite the number of PC players being higher.
i doubt its that low compared to pc's why? because its cheaper to buy a £150 console and pirate your games vs buying a £600 pc to pirate and play games.
Also, with all this origin, steam works and all these DRM crap, you got to fiddle alot to get even a pc pirated game working unlike a xbox pirated game wher eu simply burn the ISO and stick it on your console and play.
Countries like china, philippines etc the console piracy is ridiculously high because of the above points. some, if not most people pirate so they play for free and save money, they save alot of money buy buying a console instead of a pc.
Do not underestimate the piracy levels of consoles. its HUGE as well
You can't pirate games on an X360 out of the box, while most people already have a PC - they don't buy them just for gaming.
I don't believe that's true, however specifics of pirating would be against Hexus rules. Also, with all this origin, steam works and all these DRM crap, you got to fiddle alot to get even a pc pirated game working unlike a xbox pirated game wher eu simply burn the ISO and stick it on your console and play.
Yet fewer console players end up giving much higher revenue than a far more numerous amount of PC players...Do not underestimate the piracy levels of consoles. its HUGE as well
