I did absolutely nothing wrong... I spawned as an engineer, took out an enemy sniper, fired at another enemy who ran away and then jumped into a tank. Then i got kicked and banned! All this in less than 2 minutes of play time in a conquest match!

I bet the sniper i killed was one of the admins... A lvl 50 who just got a dent in his ego from my lowly lvl 6 engineer.

I thought it would keep itself upto date? I downloaded the game from Steam. I'm still able to log in and play on other servers that use PB.

Re: Bad Company 2 PC... What a mess!

Ok i think i know what happened... I tried using the same server again and quickly read the rules while it was loading (before it kicked me back to the menu). I must have jumped into an enemy tank as there is a rule against 'vehicle stealing' which is very lame as i didn't 'steal' the tank... It had been abandoned and was partially knackered, i didn't even know it was an enemy tank!

Some rules really take the fun out of this game.

Re: Bad Company 2 PC... What a mess!

Here is the steam patch info

    Removed some memory leaks
    - Fixed crashes when the game attempted to render lots of content (high detail, high FOV or multiple-monitor modes); this should particularly help multi-monitor users
    - Chat window no longer causes lag spikes
    - Chat window reworked opacity & visibility-time is controllable through settings in settings.ini
    - Clantag is remembered when using auto-login
    - Banner URLs can be up to 252 characters in length
    - Minor performance enhancements
    - Reduced rubberbanding on servers with more than 24 active players
    - PrintScreen takes a screenshot, file stored in Documents\BFBC2\Screenshots directory

Re: Bad Company 2 PC... What a mess!

I found one serve to avoid. hellboundsoldiers.org. If a guy called KGB who is the clan leader is playing he will ban you for killing him. He banned my whole clan. 2 because they where sniping out of a tree and everyone else for killing him even when he was breaking the server rules and spawn raping in the uncap. I killed him with a pistol while he was bunny hopping in our uncap and he banned me for hacking. Total loser. He also just deletes any complaints on there forum with no replies.

Never played BC2 on a console but I doubt it would be as good as a PC even with the excessive bloom. Try this launcher to fiddel with things much easier thean the ini file

PB should auto update, but sometimes you need to do it manually. Fixed my problems with BF2, might be worth a try.

I can't say that the banning business talked of here makes me want to buy this game. I thought games were played for fun.
... I use now a big vent for the whole machine now, but I cant use it forever, it is my grandma's ventilator...

I (basically) can't play because of that. It's a conflict with my soundcard. It also wasn't present when the game was first released. Deeply infuriating.

I can work around it by routing the sound through the TV and disabling onboard sound through the bios, but seriously...not worth the hassle.

That crap had better not happen with BF3

Interestingly it happens in other games as well. It seems to be some deep rooted issue, perhaps with the realtek sound drivers.
I wonder of something has changed in the way that W7 handles them.

Yes - if BF3 does this, I may well just start weeping.
