Battlefiedl 3 - Alpha, Beta, Demo etc

With the recent release of the Battlefield 3 public demo/alpha/beta release, I was wondering what peoples thoughts are.

There are many debates on various forums regarding the actual version they released to the public last week -Mainly because of the poor quality of this release.

Personally I consider myself a fan of the battlefield series. Been playing them all since the release of 1942 and play Bad company 2 for many hours a week.

I found BF3 beta release complete rubbish. Played for an hour and uninstalled it. Graphics were poor and not smooth, feel of the game was not fluid compared to previous releases. Felt very much like a game made for console players.

Already a thread going for this dude
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Just got out of the hospital after a major surgery and now my thirst for gaming has returned. Its been nearly 4-5 weeks since I last had a good game. Was looking forwards to this about to hit install and give it a go. Hopefully it will be good.

I really do think it will be great, despite the negativity up til now.

It HAS to be good... its Battlefield!

I'm sure when you playing it's really good.

I hate the beta, it's the worst beta I ever been in. I really hope the final release doesn't force you to use a browser to join servers. I want to start the game, go full screen and select my options, find a server and play.

Not as it is now. My recent tries at playing has caused me more bluescreens then I ever had in the last few years, other then ramdon game crashes without errors. Going full screen causes an insane type of lag, where I can't control anything, everything respondes forever later. But if it's not full screen, I can play... till it crashes/blue screens on me 30 or so seconds later.

Not too impressed by the beta. Will still get the full game, but if its like the beta Ill probably just stick to BC2 as Im not sick of that yet

Initially not keen on the browser as game launcher, but once I got in game it was fine. Didn't play for long due to lack of time, but I'm still looking forward to my preorder at the end of the month.
