Install Problem Please help

Hi All

Well I installed iL2 Forgotten Battles earlier and was playing that and then i tried to install AEP just before to give that a try to, when i try to install it it says iL2 Forgotten Battles was not found and it quits out I have patched iL2 FB to the 1.22 patch and it still can't find it, anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I suggest installing AEP over a vanilla IL2FB install there have been a few issues installing over a patched version

hehe i will didnt get it installed again last night as the thing takes just aslong to uninstall as it does to install will give it a go tonight when I get in.

AEP is a bit unforgiving if the registry enteries for FB are not there.

right I have done another install this time without a single trace of a patch and I get the same error. The screenshot is a little on the big side so I have linked to it instead.

Could all the iL2 AEP players look at this and let me know if there is anyway around it?

I get this everytime, no matter what I try.

Any Idea's? Also tried it patched and no joy with that either

All I can think of is to manually point the install to IL2FB, stupid question I know but it is IL2FB and not IL2 the orginal your trying to install to isnt it?

I know this sounds like teaching your gran to suck eggs, but have you tried doing an install and letting everything got to the default folders?

yeah tried the default folders to and I get the same thing

righty then. Time to get medievel on it. Uninstall FB.. then go into Regedit and delete ANY entries you see that have ANYTHING to do with Ubi/Ubi.com/Ubisoft... restart and try again. Oh yeah and restart after you install FB too, sometimes that helps

Make sure there are no residual files left on the hard disk after the deinstall as well. Its almost certainly the registry entries are buggered or cannot be accessed by the AEP install. Make sure the user has administrator rights if it is appropriate in your setup
