    /\ ditto...

dying in STYLE is the hard bit....we can ALL flop to the floor....but to DIE WITH CLASS....now THAT is a target to strive for....

My favourite is to be Boomed n Zoomed with no prior knowledge of the killer....and simply....be gone. Dead. Decaesed. No more.

    Parrot Styleeeee

well I was playing chicken with another guy and his shots hit my engine which continued to work with lots of smoke and then it caught fire and my plane exploded.

Well Wedge thats a good start however can I suggest a bit of work on the explosive side of your demise? You see the ultimate target to strive for is the instant vaporisation of your plane, all that should be left are 3 (no more than 3 as that would lack stlye) flaming black smoke pouring down towards the ground in a firework effect. The smoke must be pitch black, imagine 3 burning types falling from the sky. This move performed at anything under 3000 metres is a crime and against the law as your wingmen and enemies dont have time to appreicaite your style, 5000 to 6000 metres is ideal. But the ultimate is 7000+ as you then have con trials following by black smoke.

Keep working on it Im sure it will come in time

    serious note.....ready?

If you go nose to nose....get your nose DOWN.....hard....he'll find it hard to see you cos HE'LL have to put his nose down.....or you'll disappear under his cockpit...while YOU can see out of the top of yours...

then, BEFORE you pass decide what you're gonna do...

A: wait for him to pass, keep flying straight(ish) looking over your shoulder for him to turn to follow. If he DOES turn, he'll lose loads of energy..you keep flying...and then pull gently up...and go vertical....he'll try to follow...and having lost about 100 kph in his turn, will run out of energy. You will end up higher than him Then as he falls away below you, kick your rudder (twist stick) or pull over onto your canopy to keep him in sight, and follow him down , from above

    or

B: start turning BEFORE you pass.....dont even try shooting....turn first and get on his 6

PS I cant do either right...but it IS right

A is called "ROPE A DOPE" cos you rope him in
B: is called kill him before ya die you sucker

Thats the 'lead turn' Zakky (B) - good explanation of the Rope-a-dope too there actually m8

The lead-turn is a very neat little trick but time it too early and you'll put him on YOUR 6

    i use both of those...

and quite often will nose down go gain energy underneath... you can then very quickly flicki to rear view to see what his move is.. if he;s got any sense he will either have pulled up to keep things in even terms or dived away from the action,,

You can obviously look for a bit of lateral asewll as vertical separation.... diving under and across him... can out you in a very nice position. However.. if hes quick.. be warned.. he can very easily pump a couple of 108s in to your tail as you go underneath.. especially if you havent timed it right.

Again.. with a lead turn.. you can chuck is ome vertical searation aswell as the default lateral.... might help with a good position afterwards.

THe route you take should also depend on where you wingman, and other opponents are.

    Situational awarenss is key

    S!

Couple of comments on the head to head as (blowing own trumpet) its something I have do very well at

Point 1 With the turn onto somebodies 6 hold them in the 1/4 light at the front of plane I find is the best way to judge and avoid an early turn.

Point 2 If when going head to head somebody drops thier nose on you then roll over onto your back then dive inverted as they bank towards you put a hail of lead into the air in front of them they will have no choice but to go through it and if timed right you will damage every part of the plane from front to back. Ive often torn a wing off like that and the engine damage usually means a easy kill when you roll right side up and up rd to his 6.

Just ask Skii about my head to head style
