    The First Templar

Started playing this morning, on PC, and it's exellent.

Good combat and skill build up... and some superb fights. Plus dungeon and trap exploration.

Looks pretty good... got stuck behind a few textures but over all excellent fun and easy to pick up and put down.

Very cheesy script.. but hey.. think it's supposed to be

    Anyone else played this?

Yeah, love it. Fun game. I havnt finished it yet though, probably wont for a while either as I have just started ES Oblivion again with having to wait till Christmas for Skyrim off my wife.

It is a bit cheesy but the locations, visuals, effects and sound are fantastic. It is very easy to pick up and play also. In a way it king of reminded me of Vampire the Masquerade Redemption when you are a knight at the beginning.

    Re: The First Templar

it's got a great set of fight moves and loads of XP based skill upgrades.

Got close to dying a few times and bit tense in places... but easy enough to wade through and just enjoy

    Re: The First Templar

Well, I've had my first Boss encounter and it was way harder than any of the group fights but still not too hard.

I've had some great dungeon trap style sessions, avoiding traps and timing my moves.. and having two players to switch between, for pulling levers and opening gates etc is pretty good fun.

    Very enjoyable.

A few weird camera angles, where I'm looking through a holly bush to fight.. and two cases of textures looking a bit... gridded... but otherwise great fun.

Weird upgrades from my experience point spends now too. I was expecting anf got.. health.. better attacks.. etc. But wasn't expecting so much bias towards filling the blue special move lights from timing my blocks etc right. Quite clever.. has taught me to practie moes with easier foes .. and I'm glad I have.. for the boss level of the Saracen boss.

If you see this cheap and like a bit or sword and a bit of adventure but don't have colossal time to spend .. this is well worth it

    Re: The First Templar

I'm a fair bit through now and it's getting better.

the prodcution values of the storyline is a bit... medicore.. and the voice over is cheese centrsal BUT the fingts get better. More tactics now.

I've used trebuchet now too a few times for a change of game style and it's good fun.

Some minor stealth levels too and it's wholly enjoyable.

Some very werid graphics textures.. some of the rocks look like their woven from wool.. and NPC's faces look ok, but their beards and hair is a joke.

However.. the combat is ace. As I get better, my skills improve.. and I enjoy it more.

Death is rare, levels are fairly large, it's linear so no getting lost....

    I like

    Re: The First Templar

I'm at the end, the final boss level.

The Grand Master... and I cannot kill him.
I'm bored with him tbh. I think I need to just be patient and wait for myself to heal to the first bar of health over and over and try to hit him occassionally... but so far, I've played it over 30 times and once it went on for 15 minutes of my running about, re healing as much as I could, whacking him a few times for some blue orb power, getting thumped on the head when I failed to side step,.... and falling over stunned.. getting up.. running off.. waiting...

this has ruined a bloody brilliant game for me. I'm not sorry to have played it, it's a great game... I love the tracking skills and huge combat, but this Grand Master is.... tedious.
