    Gaming peripherals/accessories

    Hi all.

Quick question on gaming mice (couldn't find any other threat about it here).

I am not looking for the high end Logitech mice, but for people on an extreme budget or just general users.
A general mouse with a bit of twist.

I have a decent Chineese made mouse (no brand) with DPI functions, fire button, side buttons, with an ergonomic design for right hand users.

"Apparently" it goes up to 2400DPI. I know DPI isn't all a concern.

BUT the question is, would a brand name like E-blue be decent for just general gaming? I will be running Battlefield 3. My current mouse is very good for gaming, I climb up ranks quick on other FPS, so I suppose it is about preference and getting used to it.

    See this link:
    http://www.e-blue.jp/2011/individual...obra%20jr.html

A brand name, apparently its own optical sensor (My current isn't laser).

Would I see a difference in 1600DPI than 2400DPI if I adjust sensitivity?
    Monitor: 1024x768.

Basically would this company, E-blue gaming mouse be a bit better than my current? Apparently has good reviews.

    Thanks all

how do you play with 2400DPI on a 1024x768 res!!
you might even find that 1600dpi works better on a smaller resolution

For cheap gaming mice the gigabyte ones are quite good
    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/177644...k/Product.html
They are a bit light and hollow sounding if you tap them.
I modded the cheaper GM-M6800 by glueing some coins onto the base inside it and lining the inside with some Pax mate sound damping foam I had spare. the added weight from the coins was the main thing though.

    Re: Gaming peripherals/accessories

That looks like a really nice mouse, didn't know Gigabyte did that sort of stuff! Thanks for the suggestion. Basically would that mouse be good for precise movements? In first person shooters im usually sniping with assault rifles from far distances, so would the gigabyte be good for this or even better?

and yeah 2400DPI for quick assaults, 1600DPI for longer range and 800DPI for sniping. Is 2400DPI overkill for 1024x768 monitor? Haha. 1600DPI and turn up the sensitivity?

For a good and fairly cheap mouse there is the Logitech MX518 - been around for years, but always gets great reviews. Recently this has been below £20. DPI goes up to 1800, and the extra buttons become second nature to the point you wonder how you used to use a regular mouse.

I think this has finally been officially replaced by the G400 which is an upgraded MX518, but as it is newer will have a higher price tag.
