Hi guys,
There's lots of talk regarding problems with BF3. Lots of Crash to Desktops etc....
How stable are you finding the game since the patch?
Hi guys,
There's lots of talk regarding problems with BF3. Lots of Crash to Desktops etc....
How stable are you finding the game since the patch?
More stable than previously but still got instability problems. Q6600, 8GB RAM, HD4850, Windows 7 Home 64bit. Using the latest 11.11a Catalyst drivers too.
Played one game last night to see how it was after hearing of the issues. Seems better than before for me and I didn't have any issues. Will need to try it for longer to find out for sure though.
No crashes, didn't get crashes in the old version, but it takes an age to load levels now, only for the first level though, if I change servers / map it goes back to normal. Brizzare.
I wasn't getting any crashes just before the patch, i'm asuming updates to the servers fixed alot of the issues with crashing that i was getting.
After the patch, first time i tried to get into a server the game crashed, since then it worked fine just noticably slower.
The actual game itself has always been stable for me. The only crashes I get are starting Origin or launching a game from Battlelog. Once I'm in and playing I've never crashed apart from the odd occasion while loading the next map where Battlefield freezes.
My Brother's game crashed 4 times when joining a game last night..he wasn't pleased!
Well i tested mine again after the patch and it started crashing again.
Have reinstalled the game and will try again tonight.
I should be able to run the game on Ultra or at least high. But it just seems to crash out. If i play on Medium it seems ok.
I'll see what it's like after a reinstall of the game.
Definitely worse after the patch. I had to have at least 2 CTDs before I could get a game running.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Was suffering from CTDs when the game was released, then it all seemed to die down until this new patch.
Getting them worse than ever now that this patch has been installed
Once I'm in a game, though, it's as solid as a rock.
Was running all right for me although load times are noticably slower. I have so far only had 2 crash to desktops (BF3.exe has stopped working) so it seems I have been lucky so far. Before the patch I hadn't had any.
Once in as, Hoonigan says it seems to be fine but early in a session there can be issues.
Fast hard drives/SSDs seem to be the way to get in with the least amount of issues.....although you can still get that new and rather annoying "something went wrong!".
What an awesome error message - not! Patronising![]()

But it's so meaningful ! It really helps to know that it's something "technical".
Grrrrrrr.

I think we're going to have to accept there's nothing we can do to make this game stable.
In my case, even with the hight spec machine i have, i have to run the game on medium with 70-85+fps! I get less CTD's but it still happens.
We'll just have to wait for patch 2.
Of all the issues iv had with it, and Hoonigan will bear witness that there has been quite a few - CTDs are not one of them. everything but though basically. Although right now, touch wood, its working perfect.
