BF3 night on Sat 7th 8pm

Hi guys,

Lewes Battlefield Community (knightsofgeek) are going to be holding a night on our server at 8pm on Sat 7th Jan. We only just got the server recently, so it would be great to get as many people online so we can put her through it's paces.

What game mode are you running on it? If it contains Rush at any point then I'm not interested, I'm afraid.

Rush is just an excuse for people to plant a mortar down within their "safe zone" and repeatedly bomb one of the crates and/or for people to camp the crates.

Let me know and if it sounds good I'll boot up the PC ad jump aboard

I've just looked up the server and I'm getting 200+ ping on it.. Where is the server based? Usually I'd be getting from 10 - 40ms for a UK server.

Well that was interesting, firstly someone transferred all of our points from one game to the next

Then we went onto Op Metro conquest, so I would've left instantly, if I hadn't already racked up points in the last game that I would've lost...

Then it was RPG/SMAW/M320 spam constantly.

I absolutely hate that map and will do anything to avoid it usually.

I've set it as a favourite, but I won't be back on until the teething problems are sorted, don't fancy being forced to play a map I don't want to with people who are going to noobtube me endlessly.

EDIT: The fact that there was 6 people in my team, and I was in a squad on my own, and then I got told to "shut up" when requesting that the one "lone hero" join my squad wasn't very good either.. It's a team game, I was trying to encourage team play, and I got told to "shut up"....

Thanks very much to all that joined.

I'm afraid i have to hold my hands up the the point being rolled over to the next map. When the game finished i didn't allow it to roll onto the next map. I went into the console and changed it to Metro. Obviously a bug in the game. Even though it was loading the next map, for some weird reason it continued the points on.

The server is in London with Multiplay. Our pings seemed to be ok, so not sure what happend for you Hoonigan?

I will put the server on a decent map rotation later. We do have the B2K maps, but one of my mates hasn't downloaded the map pack yet, so we removed them last night.

What maps would you not like to have in the server and i'll removed them from the rotation?

I did wonder if there would be a simple explanation for the points carrying over, seems that it was just a mistake, and with the server being new, and you, most likely, still being new to the console options and such, then that's more than understandable..

Well, if you're asking for my opinion, and you're running the server for Conquest, then I'd have to suggest you avoid Operation Metro altogether.. It's a case of whoever "owns" B first is the winner... (And the constant RPG/SMAW/M320 spam just drives me mental.) It's also a similar case for Damavand Peak, but to a much lesser extent, all other maps are quite well suited to Conquest IMO.

Although, I do have to stress, that is purely my opinion and I wouldn't like my single opinion to sway your decision on your server.

The ping problem was only temporary, thankfully, I got in and didn't notice any problems at all so that was fine

I've lowered the tickets to 500 and removed a few of the maps. We're gonna be holding a LAN night soon for around 15 people in our local area. But the server will be open for Hexus and Overclockers members to join if they wish.

I'll keep you posted.
