Where are you ordering them from lol, they must really like you.

I always find choosing a mouse difficult as I would like to try before I buy

    Re: Need a gaming mouse

well the g700 came direct from logitech, sold that on here rather than ship to the netherlands, then i took the amazon prime trial to get the RAT9 and the Mamba overnighted, great ordering sunday morning for it to arrive monday

amazon do free returns and a courier picked up the rat this morning before the mamba arrived

rat9 is the most overpriced POS i have had the pleasure of owning, you have to remove a cover to get the battery out, it will not charge with the PC off and is far to heavy. tech supports a waste of time, i never got the so called email back from my phone call, the live chat cut me off and the support tickets had no reply.. ******s.

add onto that its lack of tracking when you do a very slow movement and it had to go!

the mamba tracks as well as the G9, is comfy to hold and u can buy an optional bigger battery

    £95 for a mouse!?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

i know, but after the RAT9 it was the only real option after ruling out the G700 as well...

i wanted to ditch the cable, failing that i would have got the G9x as i love the G9.

i don't often go out so i like the odd PC related treat

£5, £95, £995 on a mouse, it matters not i am still crap at games

The RAT 3 I tried out in the local shop, was a lightweight plastic POS and if it was customisable, I didn't notice.

I eventually bought a RAT 5, mainly because I like a heavy, positive feel to my mouse and it was on special. It seemed OK in the shop.

Having lived with the RAT 5 for a few months. It's usable but the palm rest is too high (for me). Adjusted to the length of my hand, I naturally end up putting pressure on the palm rest, lifting the front of the mouse (not good). The sniper button is about a millimetre from where it needs to be to be useful, so get's ignored. The two buttons above the thumb rest are useful but so stiff they can get painful (I use one of them for sprint). The side scroll wheel doesn't seem to want to work reliably with anything I might want to use it for. The main LMB and RMB feel nice but again my fingers refuse to fall onto them naturally, because of the height of the palm rest. Scroll wheel I like but it lacks left and right button actions. Which just leaves the DPI and profile buttons that are are useful but irritatingly just a little too stiff. It is crying out for a pinkie rest.

The programming software basically works but is less than intuitive and refuses to let me auto-load a profile at startup. Too much bling, not enough function.

Other than that, my RAT 5 is great.

People who prefer the 'claw' style , might get on better with the RAT 5. Otherwise, if you must buy a RAT, get the RAT 7 at least.

    Re: Need a gaming mouse

I recently did a lot of research into buying a new mouse for my new gaming setup... Having looked around, I can highly recommend the Razer DeathAdder, although if you are looking for adjustable DPI then I hear the Roccat Kone[+] is an extremely good mouse =D

I use a diamondback 3g, its not bad but can get a bit dirty due to the coatings on it.

    Re: Need a gaming mouse

Personally I use a SteelSeries Xai after amazon had it for the bargain price of £26 a while back.

The main problem I had is that a mouse with the Avago ADNS-A9500 sensor (such as the Xai, the G500 or G9x) will not track well on the cloth pad at high speeds. It may not be noticeable if you use a high sensitivity (so have to move your mouse slower), but the problem is definitely there.

I started using a QPad Heaton Pro mousepad and it's much better now.

If i was to get a mouse now tho it would have to be logitech, for a start there warranty's are 2nd to none and very quick if anything breaks. Also they are generally considered pretty good mice.

they have released nothing good for the past few years, i used to be a logitech fan but the last offerings were crap. the G700 i bought had the feel of a pc world £4.99 lump of plastic crap, and the stupid cable design added almost 2 inch to the front of the mouse if you needed to plug it in to charge.

i opted for the mazer mamba 2012 and have not looked back.

Some oldie but goodie logitech mice tho, just cos there is newer ones out doesnt mean there instantly crap.

Tho tbh i havent really looked at mice for awhile i just remember logitech did some nice gaming mice awhile back and that is where my comment came from and they were pretty popular at the time. Like the mx518 i think was one of them.

    Re: Need a gaming mouse

Have used a logitec mx518 for the last 5 years, still going strong, and even have one spare when this one goes. Logitec should really do a re-release, didn't like the g400 that now replaces it.

    Re: Need a gaming mouse

I got the Ace of Sweden Edge mouse in the end... To be honest it's similar to the g500 and I wasn't enjoying it, but since its a second expensive mouse I've tried and they all seem to be the same I gave up and kept it. It's not an ideal grip for me, but am not getting cramp or pain now so it stays. It looks nice and is alright in other respects.
