Similar RTS War games, suggestions?

I have always been a fan of strategy games, such as Company of Heroes being the main one. But I got into direct control strategy games such as Men of War.

Anyone know a bunch of strategy games like this? The whole thing I like about Men of War (Faces of War, Soldiers Heroes of WW2 older games) is being able to directly control each member, with their own percentage of hit rates and skills. Unlike Company of Heroes each unit has its own skills and hit rates, which I like :D
Another is that there is no real resource collecting and building (I like resource collecting and building a lot don't get me wrong).

That is the main thing I like about Men of War, you can direct units, mount vehicles and cannons, pick up any weapons, fight at close combat and also create or remove squads.

Anyone know any other of these types of games? :D

I do like other games such as FPS, but want to see if there are any other games like Men of War, haven't a clue how popular these types of games are.

Possibly look at Jagged Alliance series, Commandos series, Desperados and Syndicate.

There is also a new Jagged Alliance game called Back in Action available on Steam, getting mixed reviews though so would do a bit of review reading on it. There are also a few vids of gameplay on Youtube.

Dawn of War 2?

Funny enough I was looking at the jagged alliance series. The other two you said about look a bit old, was wondering if there are any newer games like it, any new developments on games like this. (Men of War is quite new ish in terms of quality and gameplay)

Unless these types of games are quite old and not many people are interested in them?

Commandos is fun, the only thing I didn't like about it was the fire sectors you had to use, it wasn't an automatic type of game, you had to do a lot manually.

And I have played Dawn of War 1, I not that fussed on it, it is OK but it bores me a bit, I am more into modern War RTS :P

If you don't like the setting then fair enough, it's more the individual control I thought you'd like - DOW2 is very very different from the first game in that respect, and it plays very differently as a result.

I would second Desperados, great game.
You could try the 2nd/3rd games if you wanted something more updated in terms of graphics etc.

You may have to redefine your understand of how hard games can actually be. It was nails.

Wargame: European Escalation is out in a couple of weeks on steam, should fit the bill of modern RTS nicely.
I always enjoyed the Theatre of war games too.

Not exactly modern war.........but for individual troop control and a great rts in general....Starcraft 2 has to be worth a look.

The best RTS I have played is Z. I see that last year it came out on IPhone & Ipad and this week on Apple mac. I have also read that its going to be re-released on PC soon.
