Really looking forward to this, just a shame the I lose a days early access because of the Reading Festival!
Is there going to be a hexus guild for this? Or a bunch of members playing?
Anyone picked a server yet?
myself and a few others are planning on jumping on the whiteside ridge (or something similar to that) server but thats all i know.
I received this game yesterday, but I couldn't manage to get on. I played a bit this morning and it looks like some features are disabled currently, for maintenance.
I think they should have sorted these problems out more before launch.
Yeah but with all that beta testing, you would think that they would have most of the issues sorted out. But I guess most MMOs always have problems at release.
they had like 6 hours down time, apart from that its been pretty flawless as far as MMO releases go! It has no lag :), even diablo 3 was piss poor and that was mainly simple player :(.
Im enjoying it atm but struggling to level, it must just be me but all my quests seem far to high level and the main one is way above me :(.
I pre-ordered this a while ago from Game, but for some reason I cancelled it. However, Game emailed me a code to play before release so I have been playing for the past few days and actually enjoyed it so much I went to Oxford Street today and bought it. :)
So, anyone else on here got a guild looking for a new player? Or are people playing on the same server? Shall we get a list of in game names going so we can easily contact each other and form some groups etc?
A few people I know have made a guild on whiteside ridge server if you fancy joining the one, can drop you an invite tomorrow when im on.

I am on Gandara as a couple of guilds I found people in are there, but you can add me if you like (Allen.8763). Currently have a few chars around 10-14, still deciding which I like best.
The lack of character spaces are annoying, but I guess that's another way they'll make money. Also, the lag in WvWvW makes it almost unbearable at times, hopefully they can improve that!
In the first GW you got birthday presents so filling out all your slots ASAP was a good idea!
Soooo... I've been completely out of touch with the forums recently -_- been playing another relatively popular MMO (WoW). Yes I did go back and I am rather happy there.
Any way, I was seriously excited about this game to be released but it seemed as the release got closer I got less interested, so I did not order and still have not bought it. What is the general feeling from those that have the game. Is it truly as great as it was made out to be?
It appears to have come down from the £50 or so to £35, though further searching for a better deal should be made.
Im tempted on this too... looking for a sub 30 quid price.
Tried it last night on a friends account and it looks/seems pretty decent, but thinking of waiting for a price drop to get in.
Everywhere has sold out for thee time being. they have stopped selling digital codes too in the GW2 website!
Price gouging or are they really providing the best service they can by limiting over subscription?
More the latter, but also shaping the player profile from a marketing perspective - most players play a lot at the start then tail off fairly rapidly, if you release new content in the tailing off phase they are more likely to buy it than when they've stopped playing altogether. So from a business perspective if you have enough sales to be getting on with it's better to encourage more people to sign up a bit later when there's more chance of more content coming available while they're still playing.
Still no sign of two factor authentication unfortunately, and account compromising is rife. Make sure you use completely unique details for GW2 (most likely vector of attack is details from another source).
