Surprised not to see a link already here to be honest! but beta signups are live, been up for 2 days and closing in around an hour or twos time!

How many of you getting this game? Many ex or still current guild wars players here?

I have optimistically dubbed this my personal game of the decade to be

There doesn't seem to have been a very strong following for Guild Wars among Hexus forum members. There was a Hexus Guild back in 2006 which I joined but it wasn't really very active.

I still play Guild Wars regularly as a member of the Scouts of Tyria guild. I absolutely love the game and am looking forward to GW2 with great anticipation. There are a great many of us who are advancing our GW1 characters to 'God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals' (GWAMM - 30 maxed titles) for transferring to GW2. I have one GWAMM, but it took so much grinding I doubt I'll have another.

Used to love it until I suffered an account hack and lost everything from 4 years play. NCSoft's support was terrible and has put me off playing their games in the future (their response affected me more than the loss of stuff).

That spate of account hacking was horrible. There were many thousands of players across the world affected. I got lucky. Account security is much better now, but hacking is still occurring, albeit on a much smaller scale.

They're selling it online and beta is meant to be coming but to me its its been like some knd of myth. I'll believe it when I see it.

By which you mean, you buy the game, create the necessary NCSoft and Guild Wars accounts, attach your key to the latter, then you can participate?

Are there any security improvements this time around, like two factor authentication or anything?

id recommend buying it elsewhere, dont get it from NCsoft as its £50! I grabbed it for £39.95 at amazon last week, thought it was a preorder but its not, the box is on its way here and should be with me in a day or two and ill have my beta key then .

Hopefully its a good game, i was only planning on looking for the cheapest preorder and wait for it to be cheaper lol.

Or SWTOR, or any game from Blizzard. Yes, it's the minimum I'll consider if game assets become something someone will fund illegal activities for.

Well my box arrived today, was about to sign up and found that my NCsoft account is permanently blocked, interesting as it was fine just a moment a go as i had to reset the password and then it asked if i wanted to add my new IP to the secure list and i clicked yes then it threw up that stupid blocked message, this is a touch annoying .

The only way to absolutely guarantee your access to this or any future Beta Weekend Events is to pre-purchase any edition of Guild Wars 2.

That to me suggests there are other ways of getting in to the beta without having to pre-order it, just that those who do pre-order will definitely get in.
