Dungeons of Dredmor & the binding of isaac
Two great indy games I've picked up off steam, I can blame Total Biscuit's wft is . . . you tube series for me getting these.
Dungeons of Dredmor - is a rouge game but with graphics and a crafting mechanic.
Must admit I'm not sure I like the crafting, one of the things that made the original rouge games evil was that it was down to random drops if you didn't get the drops you wanted there was nothing you could do about it and you'd probably end up dieing.
Still it's been good so far, has a lovely sense of humour.

The Binding of isaac - now this is an evil game where the drop and levels are fully random and you will die LOTS.
It's not rouge like, it's a . . . er . . . closest I can think of is smash TV, it's multiple levels made up of rooms each room has enemies that need to be killed before you can leave it, one room is a boss room which will let you go down to the next level once the boss is killed.
Again lovely humour but dark humour this time.

Re: Dungeons of Dredmor & the binding of isaac
Binding of Isaac is one of my games of the year (last year) When that game came out, it was the only game I played for months on end. So much so to date I have 51 hours on Steam ploughed into it and I still play it :D
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great game. Also spend the little bit extra to get the sound track, well worth it :)
