....was this morning.
Early....ready for work....nowt to do, dogs walked etc.
7:55....I know...boot up the beast
Trusty Yak9 K and one AI Veteran in a 109 G6...
amazing really.....the weird thing is I tried the Skii Boom n Zoom tutorial stylee against a plane that it shouldnt work on....and that I would NEVER try in the heat of VEF.....to spiral climb (chandelle) in a Yak 9 vs a 109.
But it did OK....at 230 kph climb I was thinking about leveling off and trying to turn in instead.,.....but instead I dropped to combat flaps pulled a tighter turn and held the nose up.....
for 3 entire turns at 190kph.....vapour off the wing tips......but dont let the stall get me .
And suddlenly, the 109 fell away......I gently eased the right wing all the way over, and forced the nose over and fell down after him....
throttle to zero, I followed as he spiraled and turned....the AI are normally too good for me at Vet, but with my new monitor now quick enough to move the hat switch and follow, and a few gunsight view changes I watch him, and stuck with him....
At 3000 metres I remembered to put mix back to 100% and down we carried....twisting and falling like a leaf...and then he duped me...the damn PC duped me.....he musta hit the power, cos I carried on under him and had to grap 110% power smartish and pull up and out....watching over my right shoulder.....expecting to see his nose up , but no....he was moving away in a right spiral again......
I switched direction, nose still up , 180 kph, dropped my left wing, spun my "hat-switch controlled" headto the other corner of my rear canopy and saw the 109 continue his spiral....and he was mine.....
nose came down, speed built fast, and then onto his 6....low...and up under his belly...
but his speed was good....he was going 350 same as me....I remembered to raise the flaps thenand just as I thought I was in range, the Hun rolled left then right and made for the ground....
and I followed, but safely from a distance, still well high...and up he came...
and then typical AI ..he just flew straight
Well.....up to that point, I was getting worried as to whether I should break off and regain some height, or stick with him......
thank god it was AI and not one of you
S!
