My BF3 account has been hacked!!!

So I have not been able to log into origin... I contacted support as it seemed like my ID had been deleted and gave them my BF3 CD key.

I got the following mail back

Obviously that is not my email address, and I bought it direct through origin so I have no idea why they are asking me to contact the retailer. I suppose this means I lose all my BF3 stats as well then? Anybody else been in this situation?

Keep on at them, explaining it\'s from Origin. Live chat is also useful sometimes but it depends on who you get.

Edit: Any idea how someone could have gotten/guessed your Origin credentials? Not signed up to any seedy clan websites etc?

Sounds like your key has been obtained for selling on grey market cd-key only sites. Might be worth contacting Origin\'s support and say that your key doesn\'t work.

Well I did submit a case through ea.com and the senders domain is ea.com. Went through my company mail filter ok so I have no reason to think it\'s not legit. I don\'t think its unusual to come across support people with english as a second language tho.

Had a reply back asking for my DOB and my spore CD key. Never registered spore on origin, maybe my old ea.com account was tho.

I would change a load of your other passwords, its a wierd thing for them to hack so they might have got hold of some other personal data

EA support over both email and live chat is generally really, really bad.

There are only a handful of people who are of any use, so it's luck of the draw.

General feeling around the web is that they must hit X number of conversations per shift / hour, which makes sense given how many times I've heard people say the exact thing the image shows.

Can you change the date of birth on the EA account? If so, it sounds like that could be what happened after your account got hacked.

Did you give them a fake DOB? IIRC you can't change it after signup.

...or is it in the backwards American format?

as long as you state the month as a word you can get around that

Yep, I stated it with the month as a word in response the the email prior to that one. I have of course responded to that in turn... see what comes back.

yay, they sorted it out and I not have control of the account again. :)
