    Wasteland 2

Just thought id make a thread about wasteland(i didnt find a previous thread), currently funding over at kickstarter is going VERY well, suprised that its gone so high and they are trying to aim for 3million, would be great if it could make that!.

Has anyone played the original wasteland? It was a game before my time but from what ive read it seriously is a strong contender for the RPG world and this WL2 looks set to be amazing, solid talent behind it and no horrid publishers around to destroy the art (im looking at you EA!).

Sounds interesting, if it's to rival the likes of Fallout it'll have to be very good indeed. I'd be game for some healthy competition so I'd back it

    Re: Wasteland 2

I get more excited about Wasteland 2 the more updates Brian Fargo posts; first Kicking it Forward and now the recent video about the Vision Document(you'll have to be a backer to see it) makes me so glad that I've contributed.

I hope the first bunch of games developed using Kickstarter are critically acclaimed; so far it sounds like the community feedback and lack of interference from publishers should help contribute to a more creative development environment with a focus on making a great game rather than just finishing something to make some money. I also hope this makes the PC platform more desirable to develop for and contributes to the reversing of the shoddy quality of games due to porting from consoles.

    Re: Wasteland 2

For anyone that wants to donate straight away you can do it via their paypal page on their site, I donated that way as the exchange rate is slightly better than £1:$1.5 atm so it worked out just under £10 for a $15 donation

    Re: Wasteland 2

Never played the original, but I am rather glad that they have already promised support for Linux. Kickstarter is doing for Linux what the big publishers can't be bothered to do. I hope Wasteland 2 succeeds.
