anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
got mine yesterday but have a small issue, even though my pc and monitor's usb ports will charge my headset or phones the RAT9 charger cuts out when the PC is off, supports useless after this mornings phone call & the only thing i can find online is one thread where someone got a powered usb hub as a work around, wondering if anyone else has done the same ?
using my amazon prime trial to overnight a hub to check in the morning, if that fails its all going back and the G9 is coming out of retirement!
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
The problem is (often) that the device needs to negotiate the higher amps needed for charging. When in standby it can't do this. Other things like phones will still charge at lower amps, but will take much longer.
If you have a GB mobo: http://www.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/185/on-off-charge.htm
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
yeh my asus has the same thing but it has to detect the damn iphone from within windows so it didn't work, I guess tomorrows usb hub will see if i keep it or not.

I'm sorry that wasn't very helpful, I've had a look about on google and tbh can't find much advice at all. It looks like the USB powered hub is the best//only option let us know if it works out ok :)

Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
yeh i will do, but it does seem i may have purchased a pile of poo of a 10 port hub..
bit weird really, if i plug the rat9 transmitter into the tv, onkyo amp or netgear router it will charge. games rig, media pc or laptop it will work until they are off. plug it into the games rig and it will charge during the BIOS screen then shut off until windows loads. really is a poor design inho. anyway, tomorrow morning will tell me.
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
looks like its going back as its not charging via the hub either, what a stupid design.
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
I've never considered that, but as it only takes a couple of hours to charge & a charged battery gets over a day of use it's never been an issue for me.
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
tbh all it will do is cause a full battery to be recharged a little each time i power on the PC, no wonder people bitch the battery is shagged after a year.
that and it is not as sensitive as my G9 either, i have the slider to max on the setup page and can still move it a mm without it doing a thing.
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
ok so no matter what surface i use i can do a very slow movement and get zero response from it for a couple of mm, on top of the other issues i will be printing my free returns label and trying the Razer Mamba 2012...
Re: anyone own a RAT 9 mouse?
Mamba is 200% better than the POS they call the RAT9!
