Re: Diablo 3 - It's here! (Unboxing pics)

The auction house is flooded with some half decent rares now... I'm guilty, constantly had 10 items up for sale since the middle of last week. Sold most of them too but the rate at which I sell things seems to be going down so I just brought my prices down a bit.

The other thing I have noticed now is that there are a few low level legendary items that everyone seems to have the recipe for and they market it flooded with those at sill prices. There is a bow in particular that only does 17.5 damage abd has small bonus properties yet people want 85,000 for it just because its legendary, I've crafted better rares TBH.

I've only seen it in the trade boards, so that's fine with me (and only spam from players).

I am still loving D3 though, I'm a little annoyed how usless the barbarian class is though, unless you are willing to gimp all your dmg for survivability. I can't melee anything in acct 2 inferno at the moment, I just get 1 shotted

Been playing this and really enjoying it. It may be blasphemy to admit this but I never played the first two games! Is a really good game for someone like me who doesn't have much gaming time and yet likes to feel a good level of progress and watch his enemies explode in a bloody shower!

Well I bought the CE of Diablo III at launch and I still haven't been able to play it yet, I'm now hours of game time behind my friends and feel like its been a total waste of £65

Re: Diablo 3 - It's here! (Unboxing pics)

Hard luck Rookie, though it's not really money wasted as you'll enjoy it once you have a computer to play it on. Alternatively you could probably sell the CE for a profit now

Latency has improved these days for me - was routinely getting around 250ms after launch, now I'm dipping as low as 40ms. But it's spikey, and I had my first death by lag the other day (kamikaze monsters while playing a barbarian - a group approached which is normally no problem provided I time the weapon swing right.. but it lagged and my hit didn't register - game suddenly jumped from them approaching to me being dead).

The balance/drops/costs are being tweaked all the time and I think it's getting better.

I am annoyed at the AFK disconnection though - if I'm playing a single-player game and pause for a nice cup of tea and a biscuit I don't expect to be disconnected and have to start right back at the beginning of a section again...

Yeah I'll still enjoy it I guess, its just a shame I won't be playing through with my friends (they are about 70-100 hours in), I don't think I could sell it even though it does seem to be getting good money on eBay.

Why can't they just roll new characters to play through with you? You get 10 character slots.

I think they might take some convincing lol but I'll work on it. The only problem here is that they have played it through loads of times now so will have to slow down and give me a chance to get to know things and take in the main quest line. Hopefully I should be hearing something from Scan in the next day or two so could have my PC back with me be early/mid next week.

Melee classes do take a battering, but be thankful you're not a monk! I completed act2 Inferno on my barb t'other day, playing with a glass cannon demon hunter, but I can now fairly easily solo act2 too. The problem is that the melee classes are incredibly gear dependent, and the game design is slightly broken for co-op play. For each player that joins enemy HP goes up 75% (fine) and damage goes up 15% (broken). In a 4 player game ranged are still fine, sitting safe away from the mobs, melee are taking 45% increased damage and going splat. Thankfully there's a very nice patch (1.0.3) coming later this month - details here.

Which connection problem and what major flaws in particular? Connecting is no problem now, occasional lag spikes are present though. Haven't seen any major flaws while playing though.

Re: Diablo 3 - It's here! (Unboxing pics)

Had it about a week now, and really loving it. Only on the single player at the moment, and finding it very addictive Currently just on Act 2 of normal using my monk, and starting to get better equipment on loot drops. Finding the skill and rune system quite a good idea, if a little simpler.

No problems with connections at all to be honest, though this is only for the single player login, so maybe not as taxing as multiplayer. Only gripe is with the FOV. On 1920x1200, the FOV hor- compared to 1920x1080, rather than the vert+ that I was hoping for. This makes things a little cramped, though ticking the letterbox option gives you the full FOV with black bars.

All in all, loving it - up to level 21 at the moment, though finding the wasps REALLY annoying... :S
