Hehe nice to have left-field opinions too

Starcraft 2 was excellent, and Diablo 3 looks to be amazing with far more viable customisation than the original. If you're worried about it being too 'light' then I think you've been trolled

The trick with Blizzard games is to do the research as much as possible before release, as the bargain is to be had pre-ordering rather than hoping the price will drop later - it might not.

for a would be horror the art direction is ludicrous - the glossy ambiance and overall smooth look / lack of dark contrast ,hard or rough edges is just too safe and cartoony to create any tension or mood ( unless your under 8 )

SC2 wasn't universally liked that much either , so I dont think Im being left wing - just honest

TBH Ive gone off most games , my pcs down - im down so I got my hands full with other things.

I like what I hear of GW2 and then theres a lot of other games Ive never played id like to , like Heavy Rain ,Alan Wake and Witcher 2.

Last 3 games I really loved over the last 5 yrs where Resident Evil 4 , MacGees Alice ( original ) and Call of Cthulhu.

If I was forced to choose prob RE4

Have you seen the actual game? It has hard, rough edges and plenty of dark stuff.

I would post some screenshots, but error 37 isn't that glamorous...

Metacritic says 'univeral acclaim' so I'll disagree with you there

Re: Diablo 3 - It's here! (Unboxing pics)

Im with kalniel on that, SC2 is brilliant and it is my RTS of choice... a group of us always play it and its always the most played game at lans with CSS being the joint fave . SC2 has great graphics (helped by being zoomed out, dont notice issues), its a massive step up from SC1 which i did enjoy but sc2 is so much bettter in everyway apart from the reduction in units but heart of the swarm should be bringing back alot .

D3, cant comment as im still downloading but from the beta it did seem like a WoW copy, dont ask me why because i cant really give a solid answer... the closest thing is that it looks WoWish but thats not fair. Graphically its not amazing, it could be much better and Blizzard keep saying it was due to their art direction and want to keep it timeless, that doesnt sit with me... TQ, CSS i still play yet they had good graphics at the same time, CSS is old and yet i can safely say i prefer those graphics to CoD! I would like better graphics but end of the day i get what i get, until i can do something like this then i cant really do much else than state my opinion . D2 i loved not because of graphics but because of gameplay, hopefully d3 holds true to this and i shall see in a few hours .

Could you not find a comparable screenshot of an inside dungeon, rather than an outside environment?

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

it makes no difference, this one with diablo outside is still far darker and forbidding than d3s dungeon, even with something as comical as armed cows.

Keep in mind that diablo shot is a lot closer too , than d3s.

    Heres a closer one..

    almost like Disney..

but the terrain looks flat.. it looks more like a bad oil painting , even the lighting on the characters , shapes of the stones are flat .

Compare that to the shadows you usually see in horrors or moody games and films , and you will see what i mean .. its awful , even Disney is far more convincing - esp the early stuff like Snow White.

Never played Diablo and Warcraft is not my cup of tea. I am only trying out D3 to see if the hype is worth it. I have Titan Quest and got bored of it within one hour.

Maybe,I need to have a go on SC2 too and try the starter edition.
