I tired to look into that for the PS3 but it was a no go.
On the original topic, is this the way of things to come (ie no physical media and digital downloads the way forward)? I noticed Apples new Imacs now no longer have any optical drives.
I think one of the major downsides (from a consumer POV anyway) is that there is little to no 2nd hand market now. It was always a bit dodgy with serial numbers but now you either pay full price or wait for a sale.
At the same time its given rise to more indy game developers so I guess its all good.
I have only just seen this thread so on the original topic I think that must be a UK thing with not stocking PC games.
All our local game stores have very substantial PC games sections and since we live very close to the German border and go to Germany frequently I can say from experience that the shops there have large PC sections as well.
Honestly I would have thought it would have been the other way around we have substantially faster internet connections here, for instance I have 120 Mbps and some places get 500 Mbps, so downloading of games is very quick.
There hasn,t been a lot of PC Games stocked in stores for a while now in the UK, but i order mine from the net anyway as they are cheaper and if it's a steam game i just enter the code and download it anyway, so i can see why stores don't bother to be honest
seems like were stuck using steam , origin and uplay fo digital downloads . i dont realy know any others
There are a few other places you can get digital versions of games but i agree.. i miss the days where you spend 1-2hrs browsing the shelves of your local game store looking for a hidden gem you wouldnt normally know about. Below is a few other places that offer digital downloads besides, Origin, Steam, U play, Blizzard
Amazon now offer digital download service thats currently in Beta
GameFly Digital
