Re: Torchlight II Beta - Anyone Else In?

I dunno, it looked like the next area for the quest we were on? I reckon I should've bought some better armour at that intermediate town place. But yeah, apparently charging into melee and punching things in the head was a bad tacticTM

Still, it played very nicely for a beta, and I had no issues getting into the online lobby and joining the game - it's looking really good. Can't wait to get going. Wonder if there'll be a CD key validation on LAN games or if you'll be able to install one copy on multiple computers like you could with D2? I imagine the DRM will be slightly more robust than that sadly - still, no doubt it'll end up in a Steam sale before too long, I'll just have to purchase multiple gift copies then

i think talking to the people on the way to quests got us more advanced quests and we were heading to one of those rather than the original one, i dunno. Difficulty ramped considerably. managed to clear out everything though by creeping forward then running away, taking one out at a time

It's been a good Beta quite smooth few bugs and they are working on it quickly a bug I reported (items sold from pet bags sold for double the gold) was hot fixed within a day, engineer seem massively overpowered though I just stood there against Grand Regent with heal bot out and just swung my axe 700 per hit to him he went down fast and my health never dropped below 80% before being healed back up by the bot. (posted this on Hexus forum and decided to just paste it over to Runic forum as am too lazy to think up another one , so just sit back and wait for full release now)

That was also true with the original as side areas would always be considerably harder, might not make much sense story wise but I utterly enjoyed the "prepare to be hurt" feeling you had whenever coming across those areas.

Had my first chance to play the beta yesterday, fun as always and was hooked almost immediately. Overall it feels pretty like the original, skills are easily recognizable but the introduction of the new characters should give plenty to play with. Sadly unless they have purposely hidden content from the beta little seems to have been done regarding the overall plot and how it unfolds, perhaps the main reason why the original didn't leave a stronger impression to begin with.

Still early for me but looking very promising

Re: Torchlight II Beta - Anyone Else In?

Would love to give this game a go, the first one was quite good, but atm I'm happy to play Diablo 3 (I love it) don't know why everyone hates it so much except for jumping on the hate wagon
