I have a Saitek 3D Rumble Force and have no problems with it. It has a twist rudder, 9 buttons and a 8 way hat as well as some fairly decent rumble effects. It also auto calibrates. I got mine for £17.99 about 8 months ago.

Thats the one... £17.99 is good, thats cheaper than the Evo.

You need a joystick with a 4 way hat and plenty of buttons and a twist rudder, but dont go OTT if this is your first foray into fligth sims. Important to make sure it is comfy for you. I know if it was my first stick I'd go for the Evo. It's good for n00bs like Stoo .

Hope you dont mind Clingy, but I would say that you would actually need a joystick with an 8 way Hat as a minimum
