    Guess who has Il2?

Was trying to figure out how to take off without drifting off to the left of the runway but then remembered my rudder. On a bad note, it seems to take an absolute age to load(the only other game that does this is Ut2004) Hope to see you online sometime

Any Saitek imho, Ive always used them and cant fault them with the possible exception that they tend to ship with carp drivers and you need to DL them from thier site, forum support at saitek is very good. My advice would be get the best saitek you can afford, twist rudder is very useful. although I now have the rudder under throttle which I like I know Clingy hates that arrangement. I got on equally well with twist rudder

You need a joystick with a 4 way hat and plenty of buttons and a twist rudder, but dont go OTT if this is your first foray into fligth sims. Important to make sure it is comfy for you. I know if it was my first stick I'd go for the Evo. It's good for n00bs like Stoo .

also if ti's taking an ice-age to load up... invest in some more memory. This'll help your graphics out as well. IL2 is a VERY memory hungry program and it WILL use everything you've got. I've got 1GB RAM in my machine, and I notice the performance drop if I leave me internet browser open while playing... you need I reckon at least 512MB to start with.

I can recommend a Saitek Rumble force as well, bit more expensive, not quite a force feedback and defintiely and contributor to RSI...

that hasn't got the rudder twist tho has it? One of the reasons I went for the full on forcey one.... mine walks across the table if you let it go

I have a Saitek 3D Rumble Force and have no problems with it. It has a twist rudder, 9 buttons and a 8 way hat as well as some fairly decent rumble effects. It also auto calibrates. I got mine for £17.99 about 8 months ago.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

oh ok then.. I stand corrected.. the ones I tried didn't have the twist.. must be a model revision floating about. I got mine a year or so ago...
