In that excellent last VWF mission I made it back to base and landed - a smooth three pointer with no bumpy stuff or marlin hops. I taxiied off the main runway onto the rough between the runway and taxiway, shut down, and exited the game. However on the mission stats I show as being damaged. Does anyone know why this is? Should I have stayed on the runway before exiting, or should I have waited longer?

You sure you landed on the 'proper' bases? Either the one next to that little island near the coast (Where we took off from - Short runway and grassy) or the one in the top-left corner (Concrete, right on the edge of the map) are the ones you need to land on. There are a few near to the one that we took off from which could be where you landed. Therefore you came up as damaged - I might have a mess around and get some screenies of the 2 bases we need to land at, just for future reference.

ahhhh - that must be it. I have to confess I just followed the heading for the base, got close to the coast, saw a runway and whacked it down!

I'll be more careful in future. With so many bases it can be confusing.

Thanks people!! I had a really ACE day yesterday, good flying, good laughs and good atmosphere. Good lunch too!

Everyone seemed to have a good flying day yesterday, and as has already been said, the mission where all the MArlins came home succesfully was fantastic! Excellent teamwork by everyone which I think is that main reason the day was so so successful Excellent having so many MArlins in the air!

(I know I have been flying for a while now, but I also have to say thankyou to everyone for making me feel so welcome in the world of IL2 (being a "girl" and all!!!!) ... I thought it might be a bit difficult at first, but it's been great )

I got jumped by V4_zui and had to dump my bombs Still I received a nice pager from V4_zui afterwards apologising for shooting me down over enemy turf - what a lovely fella; strange reaction though I was trying my damnedest to get him to overshoot into my sights, full flaps, barrel rolling, the lot
