C&C Generals 2

I loved playing Generals and the Zero Hour expansion. Still do from time to time. I just hope they won't mess it up like they did C&C 4

I loved Generals even though i was dire at it when it came to online so will be watching this one closely.

seeing the Frostbite 2 knock up some well detailed and destructible map should be interesting too.

C&C 4 was AWFUL and so was RA3. I bought both (in previous Steam sales) and still feel ripped off.

Used to really love Generals, hope Generals 2 is a bit more like SC2.

Forgot about RA3. That was badly done as well. Just didn't feel ... right.

Let me know if you do get it working - always seemed to crash with a GAME.dat (IIRC) error for me on Vista/Win7.

Got it to work fine. Followed this guide and it worked.

I couldn't get enough of Generals + Zero Hour back in the day, and was massively excited when I heard about Generals 2, but just as it was with Battlefield 3, no matter how much I've been looking forward to the game, I will not buy and install it if I have to also install Origin

Yep, likewise. My feeling towards EA, origin, and the direction they have gone with C&C4 and their recent online browser based tiberium alliances have left me no good will towards it all.

I liked ra3. It was my 2nd favourite in the series after RA2. Though theres still the collector bug which is highly annoying, and an annoying install limit. Kanes Wrath was also a mess on release. And I don't think C&C4 exists *whistles*

Generals was a fantastic game, would love to play G2 but I'm another person who refuses to use Origin.

Red Alert 3 was terrible in my opinion, think it was the cartoony type graphics, they should have stuck with similar type of graphics as used in C&C 3.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the cartoony look either, just didn't seem to fit.

I agree RA3 was dire.
I didn't even bother trying C&C4 after I heard what EA did to it.

All hope is pretty much lost as far as I'm concerned. Would hope to be proved wrong.

Sadly EA have torpedoed any hope of a C&C Generals 2 Instead they are making a crappy free to play game (that isn't actually free to play) which takes all the fun out of it

I know the series was going downhill anyway but I did still enjoy RA3 - lets not talk about C&C4, we all know that was terrible so we'll leave that in the bin with C&C Renegade

At least Heart of the Swarm will be out later this year so a new StarCraft will make up for it!
