Tribes Ascend worth a pop?

I've been a fan of the Trbies series, with Tribes 2 being my fondest memories and many a hours cloaking and electrocuting juggernauts from behind.

Just wondering if any of the community has played this game and if it worth go? Also with the FREE TO play system, does it impact and skew in favour of those who paid for their upgrades? Making unfair basically? Or is it well balanced?

Also is there teamwork in games and is it well thought out?

I haven't found all that much teamwork going on but it's an enjoyable game. I like to play defence and do occasionally get help if I call out. I don't think it's pay to win, but I liked being able to buy a bundle and save a huge amount of play time as I only have limited time to game.

For the really high price of nothing, it's well worth a go. The gameplay is very fast and the skiing mechanic takes time, but I quite enjoy it.
