Thanks!! However, does this mean I won't have any weapons for a while??
Phage, the area with the big transport lift where you get the headcrabs sliding down.
You have to do the crouch jump to get up, smash the grate, clamber through the vent and you drop into the locked security room to activate the lift.
EDIT : Actually for that bit I think there is a grey barrel beside the lower blue crate, pick it up (E Key) and move it next to the crate, then jump on barrel and then onto crate.
Cat, you do a new bit where you pick up flares and throw them at the zombie things to set them alight, the security guy follows you shooting other stuff. You get the crowbar very soon though after you arrive at the foyer, interesting way in which you get it, makes perfect sense.
Its now doing what Half Life origionally did to me, having to think about it to much and it is actually starting to give me motion sickness running about, back tracking etc trying to work out what to do next.
CAT-THE-FIFTH (15-09-2012)
have you lot been in the break room, just before the room where you get your orange suit.
theres a microwave that 'splodes.
then when you go back later, those 2 people are 'performing an act' on each other. it brings a whole new meaning to 'getting head'.
headcrabs, geddit ?
and theres loads more scientists to talk to, one of whom requires a hand getting some paper required for an urgent task
better make like a nut and bolt, those zombies dont kill themselves you know

Wow. Remember seeing this years ago and thinking it looked ace. Will have to get this asap to see. Can't wait to play it with shiny graphics
Found the crowbar like you said.
Phage - I can't recall where you are, have you met the Houndeyes yet?
Cat - No, its not where it normally is. Crouch-jump through the door, it's not obvious as you couldn't do that in the original, crowbar comes later.
That post was a bit delayed, must not have refreshed the page!
Anywho I'm about half way through 'On a Rail' and loving it so far, bit of dodgy voice acting and a head-scratching moment where something I needed had half clipped out of the environment but otherwise I'm definitely going to donate something to them for the work they've done.
No, other way round
Crouch and be pushing forward then hit jump and as you do let go of crouch, little fiddly at first but it works well once you get used to it.
Team Fortress 2 episode 1?
I jump then crouch in mid air, i must admit the jumping/crouch jump in this game could har done with some more work.
Stuck on crouch jumping thru floating crates....Grrr
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
You don't get across the waterway via the floating crates, go to the left side in the water and there is an opening on the right you go through, you then work your way up to go back down on the other side where the spitter was.
You end up really high shortly afterwards having to jump across suspended at ceiling level cargo containers, you don't have to crouch jump though, just do the running jump (shift key run)
I like that the Black Mesa devs haven't been afraid to make changes to the puzzles in HL1. Nowhere is this more apparent than in On A Rail, where the entire "drive around in circles, occasionally shooting switch points to redirect the train" is gone - and the game is better for it. The sequence for killing the first Gargantua is changed too, for example.
