    Torchlight 2 now available

I know this game has been mentioned in a few threads, but.. COME ON PEEPS!
This game franchise is awesome, and deserves some attention on its own!

Torchlight II released today, i have been playing for the past few hours.

It's like Diablo 2, but nicer looking, and frankly that's all I ever wanted from Diablo 3
    Offline mode? Yes
Take my level 99 character online to help out my mate's level 3 dweeb? No problem.

I thought this Kotaku review seemed pretty fair, at least in that it fits with my feel of the game so far.
I think that a 92% average on Metacritic is a bit generous, but the game is certainly simple fun.
I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

Glad there is a thread on this, as i did the beta to death i dont have much to add at this early stage, new fresh character trying to get though act1 as efficiently as i can.

For some reason though, the first 6 rings I have found have all been poison rings. Seems a little odd?

I was reading the review at Penny Arcade before realising it was released. At £15, seemed rude not to. Hopefully will keep me occupied until Borderlands 2 is reduced in a sale (Black Friday, Thanksgiving, Xmas....). Started an Engineer, but only played an hour or so and enjoying it.

It really does. It's a fantastic game. Expanded and better than the original in almost every way, yet it's a credit to the design that you don't even notice and can just pick up and get right in. Then you suddenly realise you're playing it over LAN with someone else and there's a nice sunset over an idyllic scene with an oh-so-tempting to explore area just around the corner...

They also deserve some great credit for passing on the indie publishing savings to the consumer - the retail price is half what you'd expect it to be!

Will have to check this out! I'm a big diablo fan and although not as good as number 2 I've still spent many hours on 3. But now I can single my way through all of inferno I've ran out of stuff to do, unless anyone on here needs help? Lol

    Re: Torchlight 2 now available

Well, I've completed the story after about 24 hours (going by Steam) on Normal, which was a bit easy really. Even more so since I specilised my Engineer in constructing robots, so the Healing Bot meant that I think I only had to drink about 10 potions throughout the whole game! Not only that, but it was only towards the end that I checked out my pet's stats and they were vastly better than my own; without even trying to get gear to boost it.

Just started a new Outlander on Hardcore Veteran. Already missing the regen from my bot. However, shotgunning enemies is quite satisfying!
